Hey guys, I'm Belle. I introduced myself in the new member thread earlier but for those that don't know I'm a SoCal native with a 2016 FRS. Her name is Lucy. She's a base model, manual (I suck at driving automatics), and black to match my soul lol.
Since I bought her, she's been blacked out as much as possible, but the journey still continues. She's got limo tint all the way around, and a tinted windshield. Emblems have been changed to black toyota/86 emblems. Smoked light bar headlights (tail lights to match are on order. Smoked obviously). Wheels and tires are also on order right now - (matte black rims) they should be shipping out today or tomorrow. She just this last week got her carbon fiber hood. It looks straight mean I love it.
As far as internals go, she's got an Injen CAI, FlexFuel, MF Exhaust, and Dyno/Delicious map and tune (goodbye 4k torque dip). On order I have Borla headers on their way - and she will be re-mapped upon installation.
I wanted to use this thread to keep track of Lucy, how she's driving and modifications, as well as my "bike life". Not sure if there's any riders here, but I have a 2016 Yamaha R6 (his name is Zero). Thinking about switching to a Daytona. I fight Muay Thai/ do body building, so I'm sure in my adventures on this thread those will come up.
I attached a pic of each vehicle on the day I brought each of them home. My avatar is a picture of Lucy yesterday.

How do you suck at auto? Do you constantly try to jam it into park?

Clipdat 03-20-2017 08:49 PM

I recently tried to drive an auto after several years of manual only, and I was coming up to a stop sign in a parking lot and slammed on the brake as hard as you would when clutching in when coming to a stop to avoid stalling.

That was quite a jolt.

Autos just GO on their own and I forgot/consistently forget. I'm expecting the car to stay in the same spot or roll back when I let off the brake.... not just go forward without my permission....
...that's how you almost rear end someone going less than a mile an hour LOL

LOL I did modeling for 5 years, don't worry, my weight is in my heel, not on the bonnet. I wouldn't put Lucy through that. Yes, the avatar pic is the same car as you see above. Just six months later. I did install the headlights. I Love them. A LOT.

hahaha. see, you get it... I had to drive an automatic to go pick up my carbon fiber hood. Thing was so slow. I kept trying to downshift to get some power..... there was no clutch so you just heard my foot banging around and saw my hand looking for a phantom shifter.

So this morning was an odd one for Lucy. I'm thinking it has something to do with the FlexFuel system maybe. From the cold start this morning she jump to 2k rpm, down to 500 and made like a couple of the "put put" sounds like she was going to die, and then jumped back to 1500 RPM, then 1k...... then everything was normal. Since the FlexFuel was installed I've noticed a jump around on cold starts in the morning, but nothing this bad. She was shaking like she was going to shut off. Might be a tuning issue too? Not really sure.

What was the outside temperature? How much ethanol were you running?

She's running full E85. 68deg this morning. Super pretty out.

Shinchu 03-21-2017 12:15 PM

yep I would take it back to where it was tuned. do you know what your current e85 content is? maybe its trying to balance with the mixture?

*somebody was talking to me while I was replying but yeah if its full e85 then I would go back to where it was tuned for sure.
and no way in hell are these san diego mornings cold enough hahaha

that's what I thought too, that maybe the computer needs a second to calculate everything. It's running strictly E85. Nothing else. No mixture or anything. It has to be re-mapped/tuned after the borla headers go in on Friday. Maybe when I finish that and bring her back for that it'll go away with the re-tune. After it's gone through the one start up of the day... the whole rest of the day it's completely fine.

**SD is the bomb. lol.

It could be E85 on the pump, but not what you're getting. Could be a winter blend?

Is the pump something that needs to or should be switched out to accommodate the E85?
