Haha, my fault for not actually planning out what cleaning supplies to get ![]() I'll just order one off ebay I guess. Free/fast shipping there compared to Amazon at least. |

I know what you meant, just saying there are other options to get just a clay bar.

I'm using the blue bar now, and it picks up a TON of contamination. |

Ordered a cheap set of PDR rods and tap down hammer/head to test out on the dings/dents on the Yaris. Won't be used on the FR-S for the next two years since I still have two years of my Tire and Wheel plan.

Good tip, though. I was wondering which grade would be right to get. I'll see if I can find Meguiar's. Otherwise it looks like Chemical Guys and..uhh.. Simoniz have bars being sold individually on Ebay too. So might just go with one of those. |

CG is good stuff, but I feel like they formulate their products to work with their products only. I used their QD once, and it seemed to have degraded the Collinite 476s wax I applied a week or two prior. So imo, it's either all CG products or none. |

If you get it, just make sure you're very generous with the QD to lube the area. |

Just to get people excited about detailing their cars, I'm going to spam a bit of some that I've done:
Before anything: ![]() After wash, clay, Ult Cmpd, and wax (everything by hand): ![]() After Ultimate Compound on the left half, before UC on the right half (original white was restored): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have an unused claybar right now that you can have if you are trying to get something urgently.
It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G3EAGO2...ing=UTF8&psc=1 Quote:

Nah, it's not urgent. I just tried cleaning off the poop/bug splatter and thought "aw man the quick detailer might not be able to get this out". I can probably wait until I actually wash the car. Probably in the next couple of weeks. |

The thing is, you may think you paint is contaminant-free, but a good clay bar will make the paint surface silky smooth. The owner of that FX16 placed a soda cup on his roof, and it slid down the roof. I would not go with a no-name clay bar. Probably won't pick up much, and will most likely scratch your clear coat/paint. A good prep leads to a good detail results (just like in painting). btw, if you're new to detailing, I do not recommend Collinite 476s. It's an extremely great wax, being very durable and offers a natural gloss (unlike Meguiar's NXT 2.0 wax). However, it's a huge PITA to apply and buff off correctly. |

![]() I am NEVER driving on the 505 ever again at night. You can smell how disgusting this was standing next to the car. I foamed the car down and let it sit for like 10 minutes. Hosed it down with the head set to "jet" and me being at a distance since I didn't want any splashing on me. It got rid of most of the bug bodies. My wash mitt was able to remove all but a few bug juices (I was gagging the entire time). Since it was a rental car, I did not clay bar or wax it.
