To be fair, the HTR Z IIIs probably had ~15k on them vs ~2k on the Star Specs when I autocrossed with them.

That makes sense. I think 15K miles particularly if they've gone through several extreme heat cycles is a lot to ask of any tires being used competitively. When I road raced motorcycles, I get about 5-6 heat cycles and less than 100 miles before the set was deemed practice-use only or sell as race take-offs. For me that translated into a new set every race weekend with the prior weekend's set used for the following weekend's practice day. The factory pros change more often than that and typically sell their cast-offs to track day or street guys.

Update after about 40 miles or so TPMS light came on and comes each start. Off to the dealer for the reset!
