He just meant that even if the gas station's pump you are filling up at says "E85" on it, it may not fully be 85% ethanol.

That is why it is advantageous to have something like this that shows you what the actual percent of ethanol in your car's fuel tank currently is:

The fuel coming out of the commercial retailer pump.
Might be E70 to e95 depending on random.

Okay. So if it's above or below 85 in the tank that's going to effect the pump because it's not tuned for that correct? It's tuned for e85, no more no less. So when it's too far above or below it'll throw it off balance per say. Am I right? Is that actually damaging Lucy at all?

If you're tuned for E85, no more or less, it's not a flex fuel tune. Flex fuel allows you to essentially pump what ever fuel you like and it will compensate for the octane. For example, you leave you're house with E85, half way through your trip you full up with 91. The ECU can now adjust for the combination of the two fuels. Or atleast that's my understanding.

it's tuned for flexfuel for sure, but what would cause the RPM jumps at the cold start up fuel wise?

If that is in fact true, it's not flex fuel. Unfortunately we don't have E local to me, so I don't have any experience with it. It sounds like it could be an issue with the tune. Could be how the MAF was scaled for your intake Can you post a video?

Yeah! It's got a flexfuel tune, I just called delicious tuning and double checked. Ill post a video in the morning. It only does it on the first start up of the day.

CA86GRL, the pump D_Thissen and Clipdat are referring to is the retail fuel pump at the gas station. While the one you are worried about being damaged is the cars fuel pump which for the most part doesn't care what kind of fuel you use.

I'd ask your tuner if a rough cold start should be expected and follow the advice that they offer.

did you tell them about your idle at cold start? they say anything about it?
iirc, those guys are pretty good with ECUTEK e85 tunes and it plays nice with the zietronix monitor posted above.

No it was just a receptionist that answered and looked up the old invoice. I figured when it gets re-done if it still keeps up I'll say something. I found out the headers didn't ship on time though so now it might get pushed to Monday.

dang, that sucks. your wheels still on time? maybe we can both show up to cars and coffee with new shoes!

I would tell them about the idle for sure when you get the retune for header though.
and I would almost put money it was trying to calibrate for the amount of ethanol in the fuel this morning. but I would still have them look into it, just to be sure.

oh, forgot to ask, any plans for suspension?

No, I'm having my employees read my nasty gram to the company to see what they think before I send it as we speak lol. The wheels and tires were ordered on the 8th... come on.... they haven't even shipped yet.
I don't have the patience for these kinds of shenanigans. I really don't lol.

I have a sway kit on it now. Front and back. Feels a lot more solid. I'm not sure about the rest. I wanted to see how the 18s would look on it. I've thought about lowering it. But I reallllly get annoyed at the whole driving sideways over driveways/speedbumps thing. Any suggestions?
