Oh, and a price no longer under $30k, too. Very much that more luxurious look and feel than the way they went with the RS 1.0.

I mean, I get it, if they want to sell more units, they'll have to soften the car up for people who can't deal with some road noise and a good jostling over imperfect roads. To those folks though, I say buy a used IS, or even an ES, and let the sports cars stay sporty.
The RS2 was not intended for nor marketed to the fanboi club.

I mean, that's pretty much what I said, isn't it?

Never saw any of these ads. Never saw any for the 1.0 either, though.

Why make a power bumped special edition when you could just bump the power and let the normal car be that way? If they can do it to a special model, they can do it to the base model.

To your point, though, they really could just steal a few FA20Fs off the WRX assembly line and drop them into some BRZs and 86es, and "whoops", hey, anyone wanna buy a Twin with 40% more horsepower? Only 100 being made, all manual, $32k.

Can they please replace this with Hot Lava? And can the 2018 MY finally be the year that we can get trim levels?

Was I arguing with you? Yes it is what you said I was supporting that with evidence. Never saw it because Scions promotions were pretty much restricted to viral videos that never went viral.

I found these commercials after we bought ours....wonder who in marketing thought these were good?!

Yeah, no performance upgrades with the RS2, just some small appearance/electronics upgrades mostly from the BRZ. It would have been nice to get some of the TRD upgrades like the RS1.

Nice, so I pretty much had it right, minus the armrest thing (which is my fault because my base came with one so I tend to forget it wasn't a normal thing).

Nice stable, by the way. One of these and a Viper is pretty nice place to be IMO.

Ya a total miss on the marketing folks since I know 3 people with one and not one of them has diamond studded cats nor toe rings!

If this was soooooo damn easy to do, why isn't the FA20DIT a common aftermarket swap on the twins?

Going further, I've also read that the piping and placement for the turbo makes the engine too tall to fit under the hood and still meet pedestrian crash test requirements.

The 86/BRZ is already a niche product. Making a niche model for a niche product isn't exactly a profitable idea.

Monogram has the same alcantara seats from the higher end BRZ. The bolsters are "leathers" but the seating area is grippy alcantara.

The monogram was for all intents and purposes a Limited BRZ with the FR-S front clip.
