Help me decide: KW - H&R - Eibach ?
Hey
![]() The price is only a $20 difference between these three, so help me decide folks...
Personal experience is always a pluss ![]() If you have any other alternatives, please share as well. But keep in mind that the DMV (authorities) where I live demand TüV documents, or else it may cost me my license plates. Here are the illustration images from the supplier, just to spice up the thread... KW: ![]() H&R: ![]() Eibach:

None of those pictures are for an 86 btw.
Regardless, didn't have a great experience with KW's on another car (but many love their KW's so ymmv), if the H&R dampers are Bilstein based that would be my choice. They look damn similar (H&R and B14) based on Perrin's pictures. http://perrinperformance.com/i-15452...-s-brz-86.html |

I like my KWs (although they are a revalve by RCE to support higher spring rates). The roads are not in the greatest shape here and the car gets raced frequently, but they are holding up very well. The KW V1 appears to offer a linear spring rate (good).
Eibach is known for making great springs, but I personally would probably not buy shocks from them. H&R apparently offers progressive springs, which is why I can't find info on what their rates are. This is less desirable as the suspension frequency will change based on how loaded or unloaded it is. If they are indeed made with Bilstein shocks, that would be a plus, but I personally would not buy a coilover set with progressive springs. |

@renfield90 I was wrong, likely not Bilstein, rear damper thread location is different which would be weird for that to change.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48846 I'll take a progressive rate spring with a damper I believe in over a linear rate with a damper I'm not fond of. Especially for the street. Edit: But none of the options provided fall into that category for me. I'd pick Bilstein B14 for TUV compliance, but I'm a bit of a fanboy. Last edited by strat61caster; 03-10-2017 at 12:39 PM. Reason: likely not bilstein |

The car-ad actually says it already has Sachs suspension.
Does Sachs make other suspension systems for the 86 than coilovers? |
