My '13 FRS had I/H/E engine bolt-ons and was also tuned with OFT (we dyno tuned it). Torque dip was completely gone on that car.
Good to hear that you get good result. Don't understand why Subaru/Toyota have to install the torque-dip from the factory. CO2 emission and Highway MPG, may be

No number gains with this beta tune. He just made adjustments to fueling to smooth out the dip...no changes to timing or anything special to increase power.

I think the torque dip is a characteristic of the boxer engine layout. It doesn't make sense from an emissions perspective since you shift before getting into the dip, and the highway cruise speed in 6th is not in the torque dip.

They made it to fit that way on purpose, for those of us who think the sound tube is silly.
Never heard of this...

I've driven all kinds of new BMW's and owned a few...none of those have anything like a BRZ/FRS torque dip. I've seen dyno graphs of the Porsche's that have a dip, but that is about the only evidence I have ever seen of something similar.

I'd say "some" cars might have a similar torque dip out there, but "most" is a big overstatement.

Regardless, doesn't the change the fact that a BRZ has it and that is all I am pointing out in this video.

With the majority of the car these days is turbocharged, I have been observing a plateau of flat torque curve from 1xxx rpm up to 5-6K rpm as a norm. BMW, BENZ, VW, AUDI, new age Porche (991.2 Carrera) or even Ferrari (458 GTB)

N/A is becoming a rare breed these days, and this probably is the reason why torque dip in the BRZ/86.

So I've had mine for a little less than a week. Been driving both city and highways pretty much 50/50 and here are my thoughts.

Dislikes:
1) Stupid pandora app. Why have a bluetooth radio if I need to be plugged in to use the function?
2)Combo here: license plate light/4th brake light. Why have full LED lights if your not going to just finish the job?
3) Heel Toe. I do agree the positioning of the brake and gas pedal are sufficiently close together, the distance in depth is what is killer. (I think there is an adjustment)
4) Moving the seat to let someone in the back. In my GTI if I had someone in and out of the back, the drivers chair would go back to my driving position. I don't have passengers often but since I'm giving people a spin in the new car its been a pain.
5) Closing the trunk. I find myself wanting to close the trunk with the spoiler but then I quickly realize I don't want to put pressure on it. Since the hinges are powerful and the trunk opens a full 90 degrees I never really close it all the way and I have to do it twice

Myths:
1) Torque dip. Yes its there, no denying it, but in NO WAY does it effect daily driving.
2) Every time you drive, you'll get in an accident. lol

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion but there are my quick thoughts

You have an iPhone?
Pandora works fine over Bluetooth, but I have Android.

The trunk is annoying as hell. I'm used to my old BRZ where you could just shut it normal. I have to slam this one.

Hmm, I noticed the same thing. My '17 BRZ trunk needs a bit more force to get it to lock shut. When I first got it the trunk kept bouncing back up and not shutting. My '13 FRS trunk shut just fine and easy. Maybe because the car is new?
