Crying? I'm sorry I wanted to post a thread where people can just vent their frustration be it insane mark ups, bad customer service, or just want to talk to the rest that are in the same boat. Congrats on getting your car, I ordered mine about March 6. I have been following this car since the rumors came out. This isn't crying. It's just at that point where its so close I can almost feel it

different cultural values is what i see, people feel entitled to things, reality check, most of us arn't entitled to EVERYTHING, we're entitled to some things, a small number of things, generally acceptable social standards that don't cause annoyance for others.

reminds me of that news line i saw a few months back of some big fat guy boycotting an all you can eat shrimp or lobster place because they asked him to leave after a few months of him coming in every day and ordering food and then claiming how his rights are infringed.

the OP explicitly said

"Feel free to vent and post all the stuff you have had to deal with while waiting for your car. "

so now i'm venting, because i've had to deal with his/her posts while i was waiting for my car.. except i'll continue to endure them because they won't stop until every pre-order has been fulfilled with cherries on top

And now you're whining about his whining. We've come full circle.

Then how come i'm not frustrated?

insane markups? don't go to the that dealer

bad customer service? don't go to that dealer

If you've been following what's been going on then you should have ZERO reasons to be surprised or upset, things are as they are, life is as it is.

smoke a j, have a beer, relax.

you'll get your car eventually.

If you actually read my post, you would know the $2,500 down wasnt a big deal since the dealership and I are friends.

Another thing you should have noted the main reason I'm venting is dealers getting cars that aren't for people who pre-ordered. Had I known they were sending extra cars in the first shipment I wouldn't have pre-ordered. I would have waiting found a dealer with the car I wanted And gone to get it regardless of distance.

*some dealers

my dealer received 4 cars so far, 1 for demo purposes and 3 pre-ordered cars.

someone screwed up in the chain of command, sure, but to see these types of "i'm angry" posts spring up ever single day gets annoying.

So you are swearing them because of the pre-order/ordering process? Even though it may be the most fun, most reliable car you have ever had? Sorry but that is just hilarious... I'm not sure how many cars you have special ordered and especially new model cars. But they all suck at this process, what makes it worse is if your dealer is clueless.

I ordered a Mini Cooper S when they first came out, biggest pain in the butt and what sort of saved it was the sales guy. He was always keeping me informed of what he knew. Waiting sucked but when I got the car it was awesome because like the BRZ it was something completely new on the road and I got plenty of looks, people snapping pictures and always asking me questions about it. The Cooper turned out to be one of the "funner" cars I have owned and was very reliable.

As long as the car is not a POS and always breaks down on you, swearing off a brand because of the ordering process for a new to market vehicle is laughable.

THIS!! After you had your BRZ for 6 months come back and see if you feel the same about the entire brand.

im with you on this. to many people laity been whining about not getting there car on the forums to much, and how they "threating" to switch over and get a wrx or a Z if they dont get a vin or brz. or the new complaint about just because of this incident they will never buy a subaru again after they get their brz.

and yes i pre ordered my car and am still waiting.

So apparently 1 car represents the whole brand/manufacturer? Really? Just because a Corvette is awesome, that doesn't mean I can't dislike Chevy/GM as a whole? Just because the Viper is awesome, I can't dislike everything else Dodge/Chrysler produces(Yes, I'm aware the Viper is technically an "SRT" vehicle now)? That's what is laughable.

I made a member rant thread. So all the other daily posts can just come here. And if you are tired of hearing about them you can always just not open them. Forums will always be the same but at least direct the other posts here instead of bashing on people in every post that way we can just talk to each other here. Help coup with the stress of having our car so close yet so far.

There are actually 4 distributors in the U.S.:
Subaru Distributors Corp is repsonsible for NY and Northern NJ.
Servco Pacific is responsible for Hawaii
Subaru of New England is responsible for CT, ME, MA, NH, RI and VT.
Subaru of America is responsible for all remaining states

LOL, I actually expect a company to TRY to treat it's customers well. I haven't gotten that from Subaru. That will make me swear them off yes. I have reasonable expectations, if a company can't meet them, their loss. Word of mouth is not something to be taken lightly by a company.

I've had nothing bad to say about the Toyota's I've owned. I've almost gone off on Dodge but a great dealer saved their ass' on that particular issue.

Only 1 dealer, the a fore mentioned Chrysler dealer has ever earned my respect. And I in no way expect another ever will. Though I'm always hopeful of a surprise.

Buying cars is the single worst consumer purchase for most people. If you think you aren't getting screwed, either you are naive, or you got one of the truly rare dealers.

If a manufacturer doesn't have a clear definition of Pre-Order, but still offers them, they obviously don't have a good read on their customers as a whole. Pre-Order is a pretty standard thing these days. That tells me they are probably missing some important points about other issues.

All I can say is that I'm glad this car had to meet Toyota specs, otherwise I'd actually be worried about buying this car at all.

Rant over.

I like this thread, it's therapeutic!
