Still whining?

you asked a guy for help and refused it, don't be a child.

Dave-ROR the first 2 cars that showed at my dealership never hit their pipeline, he showed me the system where it went straight from wait list to delivered, all other slots were unpopulated.

Opie... SOA can say whatever they want, there are more than 2% of the preorder-ers on this website complaining about unfilled preorders,

what I think might be the truth, which you are shading, is that 2% of the cars they shipped were useless, and didn't fill any preorders, but they made no attempt to fill orders based on time placed,

for example the exact car I ordered is at a dealership in Colorado (not Manhattan beach where i ordered it) so I'm gonna go get it, while my preorder (#1 at my dealership) sits unfilled, the dealership in colorado can't sell what they are getting, turns out small light weight N/A RWD coupes are near useless when it snows 9 months a year,

Lots of unspoken for spares in Alaska too.

but I'm sure you know exactly what you are talking about and we should all have faith in SOA because......98% right....go sell that somewhere else.

Again, I NEVER ONCE ASKED HIM FOR HELP. He just decided to do it without getting my ok and that I should be grateful for it. It's like if you're looking for a specific Nintendo 3DS, but there aren't any in the area. I ask you if you were looking for a specific color of 3DS or if it didn't matter. You just say, "It doesn't matter what color the outside is, so long as it's a 3DS". I then find a 3DS at a game store in Louisiana and tell you that if you don't get it you don't want it badly enough. Anywhere in that did you ask me to look for one for you? No. Same thing here. He asked and I quote, "Is GBS or Limited that important? My local dealership has two brz premiums in stock. A wrb and ssm." I replied, "Color isn't, Limited and MT is. I've been in both and the Limited is much nicer." So, where did I ask him to help?

Pretty sure there's nothing wrong with saying the experience has made me swear off ordering a Subaru. I know I'm not the only one.

I'm swearing off Subaru after I get my car and will also recommend against others buying them. The company obviously has no care for it customers.

Also Zadkiel, you know I was in the same boat as you, lucked out on the one I'm supposed to get end of this week or next, but please don't be taking your anger out on the folks on this forum, just let it slide right off your shoulder buddy, your's will come...hopefully! :happy0180:

I'm not angry at them, far from it. I'm defending myself against some false information is all. I appreciate the support though and congrats for finally getting your car.

Dealers can also say whatever they want.

There are several different issues here...
One being the limited number of cars being shipped to the U.S.
Two being that it is impossible for Subaru to ship all 6,000 BRZ's that are destined for the US this year on one ship.
Three some dealers are playing games.
Four some customers are mis-informed as to the order process.

Just so everyone knows, a normal order for a U.S. built Subaru (Outback, Legacy, Tribeca) takes on average 6-8 weeks to be filled. A normal order for a Japan built Subaru (Impreza, Forester) takes on average 8-10 weeks to be filled. Now you throw the limited number of BRZ's into that mix plus the global demand for the car and then you can begin to fathom the difficulty in filling those orders. I would guess the BRZ wait time is slightly longer that the normal wait time, so say 12-14 weeks from the time it was ordered.

Also throw into the mix the fact that each S.O.A. dealer in the U.S. (North East dealers and Hawaii fall under a different distrbutorship) was allocated a specific number of BRZ, some were not allocated any.

As I have said before, everyone who is waiting for a car needs to get these facts from the dealer;
1: How many BRZ were they allocated, because that's all they are getting between May 2012 & November 2012.
2: How many BRZ's have already come in, if they are getting only 2 and have already gotten 2 then they aren't getting more til December 2012.
3: Have them show you a list of their pre-ordered BRZ's, each will have a VON, and the VON's are sequential so you can see what number your order really is (lower number means it was ordered earlier).

Until you have that info you can't really know what is going on.
If the dealer says they can't give you that info they are lieing.

Ordering for the BRZ opened to dealers on March 1st, 2012 at 9:00am EST. The first day there were close to 1,900 cars ordered...the first ship brought around 800 BRZ's and 98% of those were matched to existing orders. Sounds like they are doing a pretty good job.

What would PA fall under, SoA or this other distribution entity?

so when a 4 year old stomps his foot and cries because his mother didn't buy him candy then it's okay to tell the kid to just shut up and get in the car

but if it's a grownup all of a sudden everyone has to respect their right to cry and complain

different cultural values is what i see, people feel entitled to things, reality check, most of us arn't entitled to EVERYTHING, we're entitled to some things, a small number of things, generally acceptable social standards that don't cause annoyance for others.

reminds me of that news line i saw a few months back of some big fat guy boycotting an all you can eat shrimp or lobster place because they asked him to leave after a few months of him coming in every day and ordering food and then claiming how his rights are infringed.

the OP explicitly said

"Feel free to vent and post all the stuff you have had to deal with while waiting for your car. "

so now i'm venting, because i've had to deal with his/her posts while i was waiting for my car.. except i'll continue to endure them because they won't stop until every pre-order has been fulfilled with cherries on top
