You chose an FRS over a ZL1?

Then I woke up and remembered that I don't own an oversized/overweight Camaro, but have a 6.0 liter LS2 RX-7 in the garage. That's about 10mph faster than a ZL-1 in the 1/4. Ah, all is right with the world again! Sports car + V8 muscle = bliss... |

Yes. I had a long list of cars and a couple of trucks, sports cars to luxury performance cars, I was shopping at the same time that have no likely connections and were in the $20K to $70K price range. I typically only buy a new car every 10 years or so as a DD, so I have a rather eclectic way of shopping for one. The list boiled down to these as my top two.
In the end, the FR-S won me over because it just struck the right chords and the rest is history. Also, with the money I saved between the two I can fund some of my other hobbies, like a good used 4 seater airplane I've been thinking about getting for a while, or maybe a Goldwing, the possibilities are endless. |

Why not? Buy ZL1 oversized fast car or buy FRS, have fun, have all kinds of money to play with.
Made the Shelby Cobra so iconic. I'm sure an LS powered RX-7 goes like stink

True, that is the more conventional version, but if you've ever been around rabbits, I prefer mine. I realize that doesn't make me right...

Treadwear rating is not indicative of grip and not comparable across brands. The HTR Z III's are rated in the Max Performance Summer Category using Tirerack's category system. Look down 3 whole performance categories skipping past Ultra and High Performance to Grand Touring Summer tires which is where you find the Michelin Primacy HP. They also are the best rated and tested the highest for Dry traction in Tirerack's test of "Value" Max Performance tires, and have been highly recommended by many other sources as incredible bang-for-the-buck versus some of the legends in this category of tire. I'm not saying they are the end-all be-all, but they blow the Primacy out of the water when it comes to performance ratings and measurements. |

while i dont mind it, i just dont think that we should let statements like that go unchecked. trying to pass selling the better tire to barely break even on worse tires that cost half as much like it is a good idea (with respect to performance or finance) is a good idea should be frowned upon. just go to tire rack and compare them

Aside from that, the track package on the V6 comparison, you know is more than just better tires on the Mustang right? It has upgraded sway bars, a gear change and a few other stuff, over the base model V6. Why this OP mentioned the GT just because of pricing does not hold weight. There are plenty of cars that cost the same, but are completely different tools to the road. Mustang = American way of doing things...Take a Sledgehammer to it and destroy everything. BRZ/FR-S = Japanese way of doing things....precise surgical precision taking your time to carve every detail out. |

and you call the Prius tires better? Hahahahaha only if you ignore the huge performance gap. If you care about dry track performance you make that trade every single time.
