I don't see anything wrong with this commercial. Toyota's name is built on boring cars like the camry and corolla, all of which are commuters and people movers. Pretty sure if this toyota commercial did in fact boast the practicalities of the 86, there'd be the same crowd of people complaining that it's just 'another boring toyota'.

Who cares. They are not really making it up. It isn't for what they say it is. The whole design intent is pretty clear. That you might be able to pick up grandma or use it for groceries doesn't matter. They designed it for a single purpose, no compromises. Given their brand issues, good move.

Are those TRD coilovers and the RS 2.0 wheels? I love the stance and ride height of the red 86 in the commercial.

Good thing I went with the BRZ, as I use it to get groceries nearly every week (Granted I'm only buying for me and not a 3-4 person family)

Generally have at least 1 or 2 people make comments about stuff fitting, however they are always surprised by the amount of room this car actually has. Then I usually have to explain why I tie the sacks closed

I guess Toyota 86s aren't for groceries but the FR-S and BRZ are? Must be part of Toyota's plans to get you to buy a Camry or Corolla for grocery day.

I take my FRS with me when I shop for our annual summer meet where we BBQ for 150+ people. It only takes me 2 trips if take my time playing Tetris. Last year I did 3 so I could be lazy.

But now I'm having too much fun going from youtube vid to youtube vid about all the fun things you can do in Microsoft Excel. No, no I'm not. Most of it is boring formula type stuff that I probably won't ever touch since I don't use excel outside of brief record keeping lol

But listening to the rain outside is nice and peaceful
