A well worded question that is polite and done in good faith will receive some banter but that is about it. How the poster deals with that banter will determine what direction the thread will go in though.

On topic:
We make around 12 million rotors a year between two of my four plants. We receive about 3 calls a week from people that are angry or worried that their brand new rotors are rusting. I have no clue how they find us but suspect the dealers just pass off the complaints instead of telling them it is normal and fine. Pretty funny actually when you get to watch a senior engineer slowly lose his shit when some guy on the phone will not accept the fact that cast iron will develop surface rust in a hurry.

The dealer after they end the call with the customer.

Yep that was my thought. "Here these guys made 'em call them".
We get about 20 nonrust warranty claims a year. Of those maybe 1 or 2 are legit. Most are grossly overheated and have warped but that is from misuse not a manufacturing problem.

Ok so why no brake hookups? LOL!

I can just guess the amount of stupidity a person could show to get a dealer to give out that number. Sometimes it is easier just to pass the buck rather than spend another hour trying to get an ignoramus to believe you know what you are talking about.

Well for me to help you with some rotors you would have too drive:
A big thing hauling stuff around that you don't give a F about 250 times
Or
You don't mind if you ram something.
Or
Cruise around in vehicle named after a circus owner (aftermarket)
Or
Haul smaller loads and work in a park or special army unit (aftermarket)
Or
Have a sudden interest in off roading (or at least pretending you go off road)
Or
Have to take a bunch of kids to hockey practice (and beat the Twins off the line I am told)
Or
Decide to start taking out crowds at meets

Not "your bad," friend! You're like a new parent (what's that brown stuff in the diaper?) and the fact that car owners (yes, even Americans) have been experiencing the brown rotors for, what, I guess a half a century of disc brakes, doesn't mean it isn't a shock the first time you see it.

But, as you can see from the responses, we assume that you're Very Young.

Enjoy your car . . .
