I need the tremec t56 magnum xl dimensions

So I'm trying to find an alternative trans for the vorshlag kit but I need to know the length from the end of the bell housing to the shifter. I also need to confirm that the shifter sits exactly center or if it's back an inch or forward an inch from center. I have a transmission in mind that may be direct fit but need dimensions to confirm.

Thanks guys!!

But that is missing the size of the custom bell housing and input shaft.

I doubt they use a custom bellhousing.
My guess is they just use the Magnum LS front cover and input shaft.

I'm assuming you are putting in an LS engine?

T56 Magnum requires a shifter relocation kit to bring the shifter up in the stock location. It's approx 7" further forward than an F-Body/GTO T56 (which is a direct fit)

Well the Magnum XL should be similar length to the GTO/F-Body transmission. The XL is an extended shifter version(direct shift) vs the original Magnum pictured above

Got this from Vorschlag's site. Def looks like the shifter is closer to the right position.

It's the magnum XL, see the PDF link up top for dimensions.
Officially it only comes for Ford but Vorshlag gets them special for GM.
Might as well get XL if you're buying new rather than expensive shifter for regular Magnum.

I'm curious what transmission the OP is thinking about. Maybe a 6060 with external shift linkages?

The only difference between the ford and gm transmissions are the types of sensors used, which are interchangeable and easily available.

I purchased a F body T56 and will be getting an adapter plate for the shifter. I am trying to get a more costly option for the swap for anyone who doesn't want to pay the full retail price of the custom XL Magnum. I'm trying to keep the cost down and resale there in the event someone wants to part out or sell off.

That is the same transmission I used. I just modified the shifter.
