Aisin to Tremec

As this Tranny is only rated to 210ftlbs of torque,..there are options. I'm currently in contact with a Tremec rep who has already done many BRZ/FRS Aisin to Tremec conversions,...I like to build to strength and going to 210 to 700 suits me just fine,...it may even be a direct linkage and not a remote shifter.....even better.

Magnum XL 6-Speed Transmission

Introduced to the marketplace in 2012, the Magnum XL is a continuation of the popular Magnum 6-speed series. Featuring all the most important content from the original Magnum, the XL retains its brute strength and sophistication, but eliminates its multiple shifter locations and dual speedo outputs.
Refinements include a new extended length tail section designed to eliminate the semi-remote shifter found in many popular late-model applications.
Initially available for the 2005 and up "S197" Mustang, the Magnum XL was designed specifically to replace the OEM 5 or 6 speed transmission where performance improvements are desired. Simplifying the swap, the Magnum XL includes a SFI-approved steel bellhousing, crossmember, trans mount isolated shifter and shift ball and even reuses the OEM hydraulic clutch relase system.

  • Trans mount isolated shifter and shift ball
  • 700 lb-ft torque capacity
  • Choice of two different gear ratio sets (2.66 or 2.97)
  • SFI-approved steel bellhousing

Pricing on such thing ?

Not a huge mastermind on tremec gearboxes but all I know is that they make the t56 gearbox which is an amazing gearbox used for numerous cars and years.

I'd love a GETRAG gearbox but if a company comes out with a bolt on it that's going to be amazing

Gd luck with your build

I'll be honest my buddy has a 2010 Camaro ss with the Tremec 6060 6 speed. That thing shifts like my '79 Chevy truck. Shift throws are stupid long and forget about the precision feel of our cars. I know u need to sacrifice some things in the pursuit of strength but a v160 will do the same and they shift a hell of a lot nicer.

That's just the shifting mechanism that GM uses. My GTO felt like rowing through the gears of a semi truck when i got it. Vague, rubbery, and throws measured in feet. A shifter from a racing team out of Australia fixed that. Wasnt cheap, but its the best shifter I've used in any vehicle.

Curious about price and how PnP this will be.

another tranny to look at is the 350z CD009 Trans, they can be had for much cheaper than the V160 and hold 1300whp (more than this chassis needs), we haven't had time or the need just yet to look into this but its on the long term to do list

If you guys plan on developing a kit for this, I would be interested in 2-3 years. I like this trans in the way it shifts
