As stated above, that engine appeared to be running a catless header and has a custom tune, so you would expect bigger gains even taking into account the losses from increased capacity. You wouldn't quite get the 120hp/litre in the ACE example, but still...

It's a lot of money and isn't how I would go about making the power but it is good for the market to have options. A 2.4l with the 12.8:1 compression is not a bad place to start an all out NA build with no expense spared. Better intake and exhaust manifolds, cams and a good tune would surely get you close to 300hp.

I totally agree but given that the engine package costs around NZ$70,000 it is even more reliant on the lottery win.

True, it's very unique and all... but that car had an issue with tran or ECU (can't remember). Also didn't really put the great time on Tsukuba TA.

If I remember correctly it was 3 to 4 seconds slower than most SC or Turbo cars, and on par with NA applications. So it was basically $70k to have a car that sounds like a bike.
