Save up and spend the money on the Perrin (of Miltek 2.5 res). The muffler material in the Q300 isnt as high quality and resonates funny when paired with free flowing systems. It sounds great without headers. Do it right. Do it once.
I was the opposite, the Q300 with stock header for me sounded way too tame and sort of odd. I also have an overpipe and front pipe, I think it sounds great.

It was almost too tame when paired with UEL + helmholtz resonator in the FP

I have an UEL header, overpipe, resonated front pipe, as well as an MXP catback and it is a little too loud for my tastes. after replacing the stock front pipe with an invidia resonated catless front pipe, the exhaust note started sounding more ricer-ish. past 4k RPM it really gets raspy. I personally don't really like it that much but I rarely go past 4k RPM in the first place so I can live with it.

It was super quiet at low RPM. But once on it it just sounded terrible to me. Still not super loud though

So I just switched up my exhaust setup, and I was in the same boat as you.

I had a Greddy Evo 3 on before I installed my Tomei UEL. When I threw the new header, the drone from the Evo 3 was absolutely unbearable. My rear view mirror would shake, and I would constantly get headaches from it. I got to the point where I didn't want to drive the car anymore.

So I started to do research and came to the choice of a Perrin resonated 2.5 or a Invidia Q300. Long story short, I went with the Perrin. It sounds PERFECT with a UEL. Not loud when cruising and starts to roar when you punch it.

Here's why I picked the Perrin: The Perrin is MADE IN AMERICA. Perrin is an American company and doesn't outsource their manufacturing to other companies, they even have a large presence here on the forum! The Invidia guys? I don't even think they have an account on here, let alone make their products in the US.

While I liked the Q300 brunt tips, I felt they look a little too ricey, the Perrin tips have a very aggressive look while maintaining a stock presence. Almost as if the car came from the factory with the Perrin. Onto the exhaust, the Perrin comes with 3 different pieces, the muffler, S pipe, and resonated pipe. And they connect with V bands. Which means there's no need for gaskets! The Q300 uses gaskets which obviously go bad after some time. Also, the Perrin gets rid of the use of the factory donut gasket on the front pipe which makes installation much more comforting knowing you won't have an exhaust leak. Ontop of that, you have a choice between the Res and non res version of the exhaust, and since the resonator is it's own piece, you could buy the resonated exhaust, and then later on pick up the unresonated piece either from Perrin or from someone selling it separately! You can't do that with the q300, so the Perrin adds customizability to some extent.

I honestly didn't know how the exhaust was gonna sound with my UEL since all the videos on YouTube don't give an accurate representation of the sound. I was extremely worried there was going to be drone, and that the car would still be undrivable.

I was wrong, there is absolutely no drone even though the cold start is fairly loud. The exhaust quites down and allows for nice low level driving. If you're not on it, there's a very good chance no one will notice you. But boy it roars when you step on it.

I think I made a great choice, and I would recommend the Perrin to anyone who's looking for a great sounding, high quality exhaust, that won't drone to hell. I justified spending the extra money over the Q300 and I don't regret it one bit.

Hope this helps.

I have EL tomei headers and 3" CBE and it is only loud when you punch it or cold starts. I personally preferred the craftsmanship of Perrin and quality.

Now I did put my HKS FP , but since it is winter I have not drove it yet. But in another month or two I will and see how that goes. I will be placing a Perrin OP
