I guess you could paint it? I wouldn't but to each their own.

Now my question for Mr Eric; how flexible is it? Id imagine no one wants to scrape this pretty stuff...

edit: nvm, any kind of flexability would be counter productive to main functionality, continue on Mr Eric!

It is rigid, yet flexible... in that in the case of an impact, it will give/flex a bit instead of cracking. It's far more resilient than CF in that regard. And for professional racing teams, this specific material is preferred over CF for this reason.

Do you need to remove the side-skirts before taking it in to the shop for service? Looks like they would cover up the jacking points

That's what I'm working out with Eric right now. He claims he has a work around he's getting pictures for. He should have something up on a day or 2

How difficult is it? Tested for 140mph seems rigid, but it can't be too hard to remove if need be.

Not sure, I don't own these(yet). Looks like just a few bolts though, can't be that hard.

Adjustable and the lack of cracking in the event of bumps/bangs. Carbon honeycomb would likely be a bit lighter and more rigid.

@johan did a solid job of describing this material. It is strong yet slightly flexible. It abrades instead of bends/chunks off. This is about as close as you can get to a perfect splitter material as far as strength and durability.

You may need to remove the skirt pieces for servicing on a lift.

Ultimately the skirts can be left off the car. Or leave off the small access portion of the skirts for easier jacking point access.

Thanks,
Eric

For anyone curious about the splitter.

I have had it for most of our most recent season and am a very big fan of it for the following reasons.

When the car was improperly loaded onto the trailer and hit the splitter, the splitter stayed SOLID and because its a thermoplastic all it took to fix was some heat and a clamp, and bam good as new.

With a GTC500 on the rear I am very happy with the balance i am getting with the splitter at its max outward position.

and finally, it holds a lot of weight.

With all the features this splitter has its a no brainer for me.

Eric, I saw that this splitter can stick out anywhere from two to five inches, depending on how you have it configured. For reference, how far does the current splitter stick out?

Roughly 3" . I think that was asked somewhere else in this thread or maybe the build thread and I didn't answer it, sorry about that!

Thanks,
Eric

I will be adding these to the first post as well. Below is where I have been jacking the vehicle up from since installing the side-splitter with the skirts.

Is it a bigger pain in the butt, of course. Is the work around horrible, not in my opinion. Takes maybe an extra minute vs. pinch weld. *And you can always leave off the skirts, or the specific short access pieces, for easier lifting/jacking. I use these points to jack the car up just enough to get another jack under the differential or under the front radiator support.

Rear Jacking Point

Front Jacking Point

Thanks,
Eric

We have a customer in Qatar who races in their QTCC series using our modular splitter and carbon endplates to balance out the rear wing. He stated that at 4 inches out with the carbon endplates, it feels fairly balanced!

Thanks,
Eric
