Deep "scratch" on back bumper - How bad $$?
So this was here from the first owner and I've been putting off worrying about it, but now that I'm taking more and more pride on her, I'd like to know... How much do you guys think it'd cost to fix this? Is it gonna take a whole new paint job on bumper? It just looks so deep...

There's a guy in San Diego who does spot repairs on bumpers for like $100. Not as perfect as full repaint but an improvement over what you have. You might find someone similar, mobile paint repair, on Yelp. I have some ugly gashes but that's what the rear bumper is for so I live with it.
Or DIY ScratchX to level it out then apply touch up using the pen end of the applicator, not brush end, to fill in the crack.

man some of your guys pricing in here is crazy cheap, a bumper repair should cost you around $1k if they are going to do it properly if its cheaper than that there is a reason.

That is why I hate touch up paint generally speaking it makes it look worse usually. Its hard to see the underlying damage but I assume its pretty deep gouge which will require a repaint.

so you don't finish sand after you paint it? what about feather prime and block i see no time for that, what about masking the textured portion and replacement of the tail lamp gaskets? none of that is included in any of those times, you are losing money if that is what you charge for that job and if your techs are flat rate you are def short changing them.
