I think it's probably because the convex(horizontally) nature of the door vs the concave nature of the panels that align next to it.

Thank you for your input!!
You're quite welcome.

Reminds me of a time back-in-the-day, a "very close" co-worker ask me to paint her Pinto (that had the silver paint pealing off in blotches - you've seen them). I tried to talk her out of silver, since the old metallic silver paint was a bitch to paint. Nope, she wanted silver.

So, it was a hot, humid day in CT, and her husband had prepped the car pretty well, so I sprayed on the primer and all went well. However, when I went to spray the metallic silver, my gun and underpowered compressor just wouldn't get the metallic to bounce right ...... and it looked like crap.

So, I wiped it off that panel and ran into town to borrow a professional spray gun from a friend that wasn't too wild about loaning it to me.

By this time, it was hotter than hell, the fumes in my garage were getting to me, her husband was getting concerned as to whether or not I knew what I was doing and my wife (the ex mrs humfrz) was getting jealous that I was spending that much time with "her" car.

Little did she know how "close" of friends we actually were. So, the pressure was on .... so to speak. Yep, the paint job turned out pretty good (except for one run ....... you know the run that happens when you give a vertical panel......just one more shot ......and it was one too many).

shut up old man and go to bed .......

Nope. That was back in CT. I picked up the current mrs humfrz in St Louis (where I was banned to) as she was falling off a bar stool .......

Yep, back-in-the-day, when I tired of the look of my 1948 Chevrolet, I would just paint it. Went from light gray to blue to maroon ....... I guess I shouldn't bang up on people for wrapping their cars ......
