Not being able to drive her bums me out the most.

Anything about the repair that I should look out for?

Similar to what happened to mine when a kid backed into it with her Jeep. They had to cut out and replace the whole rear quarter panel. When I got it back a bunch of stuff didn't line up right (trunk lid and drivers door) and it had to go back to the body shop two more times to get it all right. After the repaint they didn't get the vin tag aligned well on the door frame and tore it and didn't put the tire pressure sticker on at all. They also had to redo the clear coat in several areas twice. This was at the body shop at the dealer where I bought the car.

Got dinged by a shopping cart, huh? It looks like it's only body damage, but have them make sure the rear suspension wasn't tweaked.

Jeez. Thanks for the heads up man. How much time did it take?

Yea that's what I'm worried about. It was just a parked incident but no telling what other damage is there.

A little over a month all told.

Yeah mine was parked too. They assured me there was no structural damage under what could be seen on the surface. That was part of why I went to the dealer body shop. I figure if anybody knows their way around getting it right it *should* be them. They took care of me once before on another car I got from them that got hit and when I traded it in they said that the accident had no bearing at all on their trade offer because they knew it was done right. In fact they gave me $500 more than another dealer was willing to give on a trade for a BRZ.

OUCH ! ...... that's too bad, there, Spacemane969 .......:(

From here, it doesn't look like any structural or mechanical damage ...... just sheet metal damage.

Regardless, she will probably be laid up for a couple of weeks.

i got sideswiped just a little further back than that. It turned out to be a $6400 repair but all of the body panels fit right and the paint matching is perfect. Mine was also a cut and weld. Mine took right at 3 weeks.

If mine ever requires paint, I'm dumping the white and going with Mopar orange.

you mean the color that looks like buffalo sauce?

RichardsFRS 11-30-2016 01:51 PM

Yes, its a whole side panel. What do you noticed about your cars side panels? Its one piece of metal. They will have to fab a side panel with two pieces and if not done correctly you will see the weld. Toyota did mine and they did a fine job, however I had to have them repaint it twice, only because my insurance wasn't gona pay for a blend on the non damaged side to match the new bumper

They may be able to bing your panel out, but mine was beyond binging

They quoted $2500 for parts and labor... Seems wayy shy of what it took for yours. Do you have an after pic?

Also what should I be looking for as far as depreciation? What are my options if the figure seems to low?
Thanks
