Renault Cilos and MX5s (miata) along with Caterams (or similar) are the staple track cars over here.

You do see quite a few BMWs too.

RenaultSport Clios and Meganes make pretty tasty track cars If the French are good at one thing, it's a hot hatch.

I'll be honest, if the Renault Meganes RS was available here, I'd buy one. What was the Clio that had the mid engine in it? I think it was a V6 with all wheel drive

@Matt@Cosworth

Do you think it's possible to tweak the Stage 2.3 tune for an Unequal length header?

I have some alternative cam timing that seems to work OK with UEL's you'll lose a bit of power mind you

How much of a loss is it? And I don't mind because it would be interesting to have an UEL set up with the Cosworth kit. I think SpeedHunters had our kit and had it paired with a set of JDL Auto Design UEL headers if I recall correctly.

Hello
I have seen a power test with our kit and the JDL header and it was about 6-8Bhp down at the top with a bit of loss mid-range too

still the owner was in love with the 'boxer burble' and 270 ish is still pretty respectable

Exhaust

Just got My 1.2 kit
Has any one installed it with the car up on Ramps?
Not much room but Maybe??
Don't have use of a lift without paying shop to install it!

you may struggle for height as the midpipe is now 1 piece you need a fair amount of room under the car to swing the midpipe down and around to get it past the steering column and engine
If you're LHD ( which you probably are) then its a lot better but I'd still bank on needing to get the car about 3' in the air

I installed my 1.2 on ramps. Put the front of the car on ramps. Remove the skid plate and dust shield over the transmission. Remove the two nuts on the engine mount bolts. Jack up the engine just to the point to where the engine mount bolts lift up out of the frame. Don't raise the engine by the oil pan... use something stronger like the transmission or use a hoist. This should give you enough room to remove the factory overpipe and get the Cosworth midpipe in place.

The hard part for me was removing the factory overpipe. The heat shields make it a little hard to remove. But if you jack up the engine enough to get the factory overpipe out, the Cosworth should go in just fine.

No lift needed but it would be easier if you had one. If you haven't installed any of the exhaust yet, I would remove all the factory exhaust and then start by installing the Cosworth midpipe first and then working your way back. Do the axleback last and you will have more room.

Matt,

I'm about to lose faith that Cosworth is going to through with stage 3 as proposed. Can you please give an honest update on where you guys stand on this issue?
