Project Mu Club Racer Brake Pad Issue
Juz got those pads installed this morning. Attempted to bed in those pads at midnight in a closed road. Followed project mu recommended guide. However, after the break in procedure, my brake felt weird, especially on heel toe downshift. With the stock pad, heel toe has no issue. However, with the new project mu pad, the brake becomes hard to control. Its like way too sensitive to the movement of my right foot I guess so the car is always jerky when i tried heel toe downshifting.
![]() ![]() Words cant completely explain how I felt the pad. Dunno if i bed them in properly, or if I juz didnt get used to the new pad. OR, I cant heel toe properly? BUt with the stock pad, I can heel toe downshift no problem. Any idea guys?

Followed project mu guide, 20 min driving with minimal use of brake and the let the car stop for another 20 minutes. Right now I am not exactly sure if bed them in properly. Or, like u said, have to get used to the new pad

sounds normal from a race pad to me. you just need to get used to it. it's not like you can't control the brakes at all (like an on/off switch) but rather the pedal is more sensitive to pressure right? that's normal

However, the pad still makes noise whenever i brake hard. Is that a sign of me not bedding them in properly?

you will have plenty of time to bed them in more when you're at the track. it's not that big of a deal imo since you already partially bedded them in.

sure you can, just keep on repeating the procedure lol. you want to make sure the temps of the pad/rotors get up to temp so keep doing it. I'm not a brake guru but as long as you're in the ballpark of the instructions (meaning you don't have to follow it to the dot) then you should be fine. I'm not sure what the instructions for the mu's are but you need a variety of high speed (~70 MPH) and low speed (~30 MPH) braking usually

"keeping on repeating the procedure" .. and given that during normal dd one can soon scrub off layer bedded in for track pads .. i guess one will look like idiot. Often at that. Or just live with squeaking brakes

ya... I gave up and just started living with it after a few times. doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would, but 1st timers that ride in my car always tell me my brakes should be replaced soon. had to explain it many times

Also gotta remember these are track pads. You can't run them on the streets and expect them to be 100% quiet all the time. With aggressive bedding procedures, you can probably get the noise down quite a bit, but they won't be silent. There's a compromise that has to be made when selecting pads.
