Ahh, I think that means you need to go in and bargain now? As you'd want to get the price pretty much locked down. Im guessing you put your order in before pricing was released? Issue now is they're basically holding a gun to your head, as they can just say, youre gonna lose your car if you dont pay x price.

Your bargaining power - the ability to take your business somewhere else, if tempered by the fact you want your car quickly, and if you do pull the pin, your likely to wait till next year depending on spec.

I would assume the most likely outcome is you just pay the RRP with little extras thrown in?

Thanks Mate. Actually I put order on 7/6/12 - AUTO White GTS with Aero Kit, on the contract, it just says $37990 + on road cost + paint + Aero Kit .. that's all...

So, I believe I just can do some bargain when the car is coming?

I went in to the dealer to do my test drive today, likewise i placed an order before the car was in the dealership and my contract had a TBC price. So i basically wanted to firm up on the price now that it is in their system and negotiate on all the extras and stuff.

You're probably not going to be able to get much movement on the price, but they could probably move more on the accessories.

No way. Once you sign and put in a deposit, that's the price you will have to pay.

Steer clear from Nunawading Toyota - these guys advertised a price that was $40,065 claiming that this is the price listed on the website as the "Full Drive-away Price". This price was provided to me on the 23/06/2012.

I wont list half the other shit that I went through, it was a joke even dealing with them. I dealt with 2 shifty ass dealers there.

I ended up saving ~$500 (paid ~$39,655.00 from a different dealer).

Not necessarily, as of July 1st 2012 (EOFY) Victorians (VicRoads) will have to pay a different registration rate (its around ~$690)

Stamp Duty is also being raised from 2.5% to 3.0%.

So if this occurs, then dealers can either absorb the cost or request you to pay the difference as they simply don't set these rates.

Not necessarily - I noticed that with the contract I signed with my deposit had a lot of strange costs - for example my rego + premium plates was $558 - when I asked my dealer why this was soo much he took out his trusty rego price list and pointed at the rego price for a car in the size range 1505kg to 2504kg - I told him this car weight a little more than 1,200kg and to reduce the costs. So a new price and contract had to be formed.

Speaking of which what did they put down for your rego costs? seeing we went to the same dealer.

I am with Chatswood Toyota. I will do the plate myself. So... I am still awaiting the car coming... to see if I could do anything about price..

Also remember that CTP is different pricing in different states and not only based on age but also location.
