I can't help but feel that if one would like HID's...they should just get the BRZ. I understand the preferences on the two front bumpers is split down the middle but HID's + Nav for $1300 is kind of a bargain.

Still, respect for people willing to put in the work to keep the bumper they wanted/stay on the toyota side.

I got $1000 off, so it was a $2300 difference for me. In my opinion not that much of a bargain in my case.

Ah yes forgot about the $1000 rebate for college grads and military personnel. How much do you plan to spend to install OEM HID's?

Yes, they are Bi-xenon, however that's not all that big of a deal to wire up. The wires that were going to the high beam bulb before just need to get rerouted to the solenoid.

There are no sensors or ECU's, you would need the headlights and the leveling switch, then you'd need to rewire a few things to get it all working nicely.

You'd need a factory-type HID setup, but there are aftermarket companies that sell D4S bulbs. You'd probably/definitely want to go with the correct Subaru ballasts though.

That website's price didn't include the ballasts, bulbs, etc. The price given by places like Carson Toyota was for complete headlights with all the parts like the ballasts, so the prices aren't directly comparable.

Jeff

^ That looks SMEXY as hell! Only thing I would change personally is probably the Subaru badge to the Toyota at this point...

I'm not getting OEM HIDs. I may go with the TRS kit, but HIDs aren't real high on my priority list right now.

I gotcha! My post was directed at the people wanting to get OEM HID's. Honestly the only thing I don't like about the FRS lights is the lack of black housing but that's something you can easily customize. Unless you've become really accustom to HID's in your past cars, I'm not sure it's something people will really miss.

The thing that really made me start liking the BRZ bumper over the FR-S bumper is the fact that despite the main air dam looking more aggressive on the FR-S, the parts of the bumper under the FR-S's headlights that are essentially upside-down triangular-shaped seems like a big chunk of the bumpere where there's nothing, whereas the BRZ bumper has a smaller chunk where there's nothing, so more of the entire bumper has elements to it, whether the air dam, the foglights or whatever, while being spaced farther apart.

But I wouldn't swap for a Toyota badge in that scenario with a BRZ. I wouldn't do it either in the case of having a Scion FR-S, but I'd at least understand that one.

same here. I was going after a brz but the extra $1000 rebate was hard to ignore. $2300 difference should cover some nice mods in the future for me. Now all I gotta do is wait for my frs to arrive...

the BRZ has so much more value and with Scion's fix price you can probably get it cheaper than the FRS.
