How to delete a post (w/screenshots)

Begin by posting something stupid.

Then go to your stupid post that you want to delete so no one else sees your stupidity and click on the Edit button.

Finally click on the Delete button and pretend like nothing ever happened.

Keeping in mind that even if you delete it right away the odds are that at least one person got to read it. Also remember that although you "deleted" it that does not mean it is gone. The Mods can still read and resurrect it if they wish.

OP, try deleting your post to see if it works. Also try it on the floor mat thread.

It's impossible. Let me explain, it's technically a thread therefore it cannot be deleted by us mere mortal posters.

LOL, that's why I asked. You need to put a caveat in your DIY that it doesn't work if you start a thread and people post to it.

What if the post you want to delete is the first in a thread that no one has replied to yet?

Plus the NSA has copies, and they could be released by Wikileaks at any time, especially if you run for public office.

Then you have a thread title with one empty post that says "last edited..."

LOL - tried it here:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113534

The post can't be empty - needs at least one character. And if you edit it within a certain time frame, it doesn't say 'edited'.
