VHS is more like 480i on a bad, bad day. NTSC = never the same color.

OLED is the way to go. I'd take a 720p OLED TV over a 4k LED. It's about the contrast and the color. The best, absolute best LEDs look washed out in bright scenes compared to OLEDs, and the dark scenes are no comparison at all. Hence, we bought a 1080p OLED TV a few months ago, and I just ordered an OLED laptop.

From regular viewing distances, you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference between 720p and 4k.
