The RHD guys all have to do it to remove the clutch assist spring. It's not horrible but working on anything under there is a PITA.

Damn :|

Well I really do need to remove all that just to swap the switch, I'll just find a day to leave it at the dealer lol. Pain in the ass.

Grabbed a bottle of 91% isopropyl spray, gonna try spraying the switch while hitting it with my finger, see if I can fix it by just cleaning it.

Like I said, I'm guessing based on memory. I'll verify when I get home tonight.

Doh!

As I suspected. The manual instructs removal of the pedal assembly. Are there any tricks? Hmmm...

Maybe you can just remove the kick panel to gain access to the connector. Then, using a paper clip or short piece of wire, jumper the contacts. If you can start it then it's the switch. If not then there's no need to mess with it. The problem lies elsewhere.

This was happening to me and this forum brought up the fact that having your key fob close to your cell phone can cause this.

I now keep my keys in a different pocket and I haven't had this issue since.

T_T Pretty positive its the switch. Gonna give the isopropyl alcohol spray a try, see if I can just clean the switch. If not, its going to the dealer.

My key is always in my right pocket with just my wallet, cellphone is either in left pocket or on its car mount (to the left of steering wheel). I've also watch valets have issues with starting my car, so I'm also positive its the switch.

I have seen some valets open and close my door though, thinking thats the issue. But I don't think so? :|
