Unusual for this area and specifically only this car. Started immediately too, first night I parked it here.

Guess the car stands out.
That sucks. I guess there are just always going to be haters who have no respect for other people's belongings.

I know how you feel, as when I got my first Evo right when I had finished college, all sorts of stuff happened. When I lived in Newport Beach, I remember somebody drew a swastika on my hood (but just with their finger on the moisture generated at night/early morning, so it just rinsed off and wasn't anything that I really cared about), and when I moved to Irvine for a short time, I remember going out to my car in the morning and seeing soda spilled on it, and another time, I could tell that someone had pissed along the driver's side of the car (though to this day I'm 90% sure it was done by a guy whose girlfriend I had slept with, and ironically he was a WRX owner).

The Zimmerman thing is a highly political media circus and not typical of a standard self defense scenario. So I won't even bother discussing that whole train wreck. Contrary to that news story, it's not easy to just walk around shooting people.

this is relevant to my interests since I visit the city frequently, and I usually park in the 20's or by 125th street

I've had my fire engine red Mazdaspeed 3 for around 5 years and it doesn't have so much as a single door ding, nor has it been keyed or intentionally damaged in any way. And my car even draws a bit of ire from people who think it's just a badge job without any actual performance to back it up.
Uh, if you can't tell the difference here, your car could easily be mistaken for a regular Mazda 3.

There is no mistaking an FR-S.

Ever think of using a car cover when parking overnight?
Out of sight out of mind for the most part.

That's not true at all.

You have to feel that your life or someone elses is in mortal danger, not just "that guy scared me". There are cases where people have tried to use the Stand your Ground defense and it's failed, because it was clearly outside the requirements. IMO Zimmerman's case is not covered under Stand Your Ground either. Right now he's charged with 2nd Degree Murder and honestly I think that's a stretch. They should have gone for manslaughter as they have in similar cases (in which Stand Your Ground immunity claims have been denied btw, as I expect it will be in the Zimmerman case).

However, if someone does break into my house at 4AM I'm not going to have a conversation with them to see what their intentions are. That would be a stand your ground case (assuming the person wasn't trying to run out of your house when you woke up). Before that people got SUED (or worse) in Florida for defending themselves in their own home.

Everyone needs to focus on facts that come out in the Zimmerman case and get over the Stand Your Ground law.

Its been too hot and Ive been too lazy to try my hand at repairing it. The subaru paint pen looks very easy to use, though.

I was gonna proceed thusly:
- tape off area
- wash thoroughly
- strip wax/etc
- IPA rub down
- wear gloves
- go to work with increasingly more abrasive compounds (clearcoat only though) to minimize the clearcoat damage (hand only, no orbital)
- after the clear coat only scratches have been buffed out, fill in deep color scratches with paint pen
- use my nifty scratch repair compound to smooth out the paint pen after its dry
- more hand buffing/finishing
- check it under some briiiight lighting
- cleaner/polish/sealant/wax then check the reflection again and see how I did

If all that fails, fuck it the car is going off to a paint correction specialist for all work just short of a full repaint.
Man that sucks. I'd bet it was Old Town on Friday night though. Lots of drunk morons down there.

True, but I also never had trouble with my RX8 or IS300, both of which were attention grabbers in their day. I was just trying to determine if people are really so bad about this car or if there's something being done that might be agitating the pro-vandalism crowd (not that it takes much but I figured I'd ask).

Stay up on the news my friend, it was all decided on the storeowners behalf in the end

As regards to the "Stand Your Ground" law, I'll leave debate of such to a gun owners forum!

I'm concerned about this as well, but for a different reason. I don't live in a city, but instead a subdivision. A ton of little kids live on my street and the garage is occupied, as well as the top of the driveway, so I have to park at the bottom of the driveway near the sidewalk. I dread parking the FR-S in this spot, but I have no choice. These kids will end up being the death of me >_>

I live in flushing, in a pretty decent neighborhood, but it's street parking and we know how tight those streets can be

On a side note, I saw a black frs or brz on Horace Harding expwy around 6pm today when I was on the bus

I'll have to park similarly, and I'm not looking forward to it either.

Sorry to hear that hope you catch the bastards

People that do this when caught the punishment needs to be that you get to tie them to the back of the car on a 10ft rope while you get one free run around your local drift track
