Man I feel for you guys that live in the city and have to park on the street. I don't know if I'd even bother with a nice car if I had to live like that.
Makes me really appreciate my rural living. My car is in the garage anyway but here we have wildlife that can mess you car...raccons, squirrels, mice and so on.

Man that's rough. I work on LI but frequently commute to Manhattan for jobs. Luckily I get reimbursed for my travel so I get to park in garages. You run the risk of people joyriding (rare imo) but it's safer than streetside parking I think.

city driving and parking is a constant headache and worry... Now I feel like I should be worrying more about what streets I park

I've never had to park in the city yet but when I do, I'm more worried about the the bumper to bumper parking.
I saw an argento FRS on the Bronx River Parkway a few weeks ago. Was that you Cgrey? |

hey EnCity, what part of queens you from. Did you get your firestorm at Queensboro? They had a firestorm there and that was the first and only time I've seen the Red so far.

Wow, awesome! Do you know how long the recording would last before it starts deleting? Just in case someone decides to KEY my car in the night, I don't want the camera to record over it. Just noticed the "Parking Mode" function. Super cool! I think I might get this one too!

Honestly, my .45 comment was a joke. Please do not kill anyone based on my comment! Secondly, your comment about Florida is laughable. This is the state where you can kill someone FOR ANY REASON as long as you "feel threatened". Aka Zimmerman...ugh. |

Florida is a Stand Your Ground state, just like Arizona. I love our gun laws. Zimmerman should not be using Stand Your Ground as a defense, but that's a topic for another thread. |

I wasnt keeping very good track of the car, so it could have happened Friday night or Saturday sometime during the day. It was either starbucks on camelback @ 16th oooor somewhere in oldtown snobsdale. Im thinking most likely starbucks saturday morning though since its one of the few times I parked the car in an open lot, during the day, next to other cars, out my eyesight for atleast 45 minutes.
Its been too hot and Ive been too lazy to try my hand at repairing it. The subaru paint pen looks very easy to use, though. I was gonna proceed thusly: - tape off area - wash thoroughly - strip wax/etc - IPA rub down - wear gloves - go to work with increasingly more abrasive compounds (clearcoat only though) to minimize the clearcoat damage (hand only, no orbital) - after the clear coat only scratches have been buffed out, fill in deep color scratches with paint pen - use my nifty scratch repair compound to smooth out the paint pen after its dry - more hand buffing/finishing - check it under some briiiight lighting - cleaner/polish/sealant/wax then check the reflection again and see how I did If all that fails, fuck it the car is going off to a paint correction specialist for all work just short of a full repaint. |
