Sweet merciful motorcars.. I have not seen a purpose built race car that I've found so gorgeous since, well, another Mazda... the Furai, which unfortunately never got it's day in the sun. I hope the RT24-P shines as well on the track as it does in the photos!

I think LMP1 cars built today are some of the ugliest racecars in all of history (looking at you Audi & Porsche) but THIS. This car is sex on wheels.

I love everything about it except the engine.

Wait until it's covered in sponsorship stickers....I think the red and black color scheme would make a lot of the other purpose built race cars look much better too.

The lines are sexy though and a 2.0L turbo 4 with 600hp sounds awesome.

Best hope is that this upcoming season the 2.0L is there to allow them to focus on the chassis while the rotary gets developed back home for next season.

I'm optimistic because Mazda totally ditched turbos a few years back, they might use the tech for a Mazdaspeed 3/6, but I'd be surprised if that 2.0 was anything more then a workhorse placeholder engine.

Mazda doesn't exactly have the cash to create high end one off engine designs just for kicks, I bet it's a beefed up SkyActiv built on a budget with a limited future.
