Might have to add another part to the list of purchases for this damn car...

If you include a plug to kill the dumb sound tube then I think that's a fair compromise.

It should be easy to thread it yourself if you want to. Personally I want the inside of the intake as smooth as possible without any extra holes

This kit will be submitted to CARB with our next batch of submissions. Most of our kits are CARB legal, and this car should not be any different.

I would have preferred the noise tube delete also. I agree totally with your engineering principles but not a fan of the aesthetics, that alum lid looks off to me, and makes the air box look really big, and square. Matching its aesthetics to the fuse box for a sleeper install would have been perfect.

Besides those issues, best intake we've seen.

Edit: Also would like branding to be via sticker so it's optional if we prefer an eom look.

I'd also be more interested in the intake if it had the sound tube connection deleted.

Keith,
Thanks for sharing all this product development info with us. So far, I really like what I see! Looks to be a well engineered design. Outstanding features. Airaid quality. I'm in for one when they go to production and become available. Any chance you can give your friends here following this thread an early group buy discount deal in order to get some immediate, positive, R&D user feed back? Might be a good way to corner the market with the "best" available and "most popular" intake for the ft86s! Just a thought!!! Thanks, again.

I personally think the heat shield will be the most important aspect of the intake. Looks like it does a pretty nice job of shielding it.

That's why we design kits that install like stock and are easily reversed. Nobody wants to hack their car up to put on an aftermarket part.

Also an intake should not void your warranty, if the dealer gives you grief I would find somewhere else to take your car. I do understand that sometimes its easier to just avoid the hassle though.
