What are your damper settings?
This is a 235/40. So I'm guessing you can tell the filling of the fender from the tyre more in real life, since it looks only slightly different than your setup? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Last edited by nima314; 11-13-2016 at 02:36 AM. |

That wheel is probably 8-8.5 in im running a 9.5 in wide wheel so 235 would be to stretched... my 255s have the smallest little stretch to them. |

The look also depends on the lip/rim of the wheel as some tend to stick out a bit more and also the tyre edged. Some tyres where they sit on the wheel have a bit more rubber. For example Michelin Pilot Sport 3 have a bit more rubber there than Bridgestone RE003. Very hard to tell what the final combined look will be without seeing someone with the exact same wheels and exact same tyre combo.

as far as tires, the real question to ask is what will you be doing with the car and what is your driving ability.
having a crazy summer tire will cover up a lot of mistakes and leave you with a high grip threshold so when it finally gives way....novice drivers simply will not have enough time to correct. next, is it street or track duty? do you care about wet traction. I had RE11 before the MPSS and i can tell you that anything under 70 degrees out takes some driving to get tires to warm up a bit and wet weather traction was abysmal. that was the reason i went with a MPSS. however the MPSS is, in my opinion, too soft to be a track tire. I found it to be an incredible street and light duty track tire, but its just not enough sidewall for me. if you want a good summer tire and you are new to track and driving a RWD car i would go with a continental DW or a hankook v12. both great in wet. both have TONS of grip by they are super predictable. also i see a lot of you guys here are low. i never had issues as long as you angle enough. Cups are probably great but i have yet to see any that add A LOT of travel up front. Lastly, being stiff isn't good, you want suspension travel and a good damper. man i'm gonna miss this forum, hope you guys keep this thread alive! |

Yeah, i heard about the soft sidewall too. DW's aren't even available at all so I'll see if i can get my hands on Hankook. I was suggested invo's, do you rate them?
So sad that you're going man, just buy another one and stay on the forums hahahaha. Yeah i want as soft as possible and was thinking five ticks from softest. Thanks Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

never tried nits but have heard mixed reviews to be honest. I would the v12 is a great tire for the money to be honest. once you grow out of that tire you'll see what i am on about in terms of sidewall and grip and wet traction, or lack there of |
