Not sure what else needs to be done for the starter kit that isn't already being touched during a regular spring install but I paid $250 to install the springs and $99 for a 4 wheel alignment. So $350 total. The shop was P Tuning. I'd say shop around for quotes. Or have them break down what the $700 labor charge is for so you can compare with other shops.

RCE springs looks like progressive springs since they are wound tighter at the top than the middle or bottom...? Maybe Eibach spring rates are diff from RCE (which are 250 lbs fr&bk)

Our springs are essentially linear at normal ride height. The tightly spaced coils act as a helper spring.

The rear camber adjustment is a pain to install, so that install price isn't too surprising.

Mine was $350 with an alignment for just installing the springs. I have heard from other members and shops that the rear camber bushings are a real pain to install and definitely add to the cost. First quote I had was $450 with an alignment so just look around.

It took me two hours to install all four springs. Do that part yourself and save a bunch of money. You might want to pay for the bushing install though...

great info

Great post, like you i was concerned about the harsh ride with +50% spring rate over stock springs, and looking at pics of the drop on RCE yellows looks great (20 mm) and the front to rear neutral rate is appealing but the +50% spring rate over stock springs on OEM shocks is concerning for ride quality and durability of the shocks...is this just a "on paper" concern, how is the "real" world experience with ride and durability on oem dampers ? especially on some of the bad roads ?

thanks in advance

Anyhow, as for the review, the RCE springs eliminate the busy "pogo bouncing" that the car displayed prior to this install. The cars handling feels calmer, tighter and in more continuous contact with the road. The ride is not harsh at all, I find it to be wayyyyy better than stock. I am surprised these springs (by themselves) improved on the driving and handling dynamics of the car so much. To be honest, I was afraid that I would end up getting a brick ride or mismatched shock spring conflict, but I am pleased to say my fears were quickly quelled. I just wanted to pass this info along in case someone else is on the fence about upgrading their springs. And no, I am not associated with RCE in any way, other than being a happy customer. :happy0180:

The OEM struts are too powerful for the OEM springs as it is. What should happen is the springs absorb the impact, rebound back to zero, and the struts dampen the oscillation of the springs. What actually happens is the struts absorb the impact and extend slowly back to zero while the springs sit there and look pretty. RCE Yellows' higher spring rate are designed to work with the OEM struts and make them perform like they're supposed to. So the ride, while a little firmer than OEM, is actually smoother.

I've been on Yellows and OEM struts for about two years now, and the roads here vary from glass smooth to some sweet jumps where the concrete slabs have shifted. On smooth roads they're a dream. On rough roads, nothing you can do will be great, but they're pretty good. Small bumps get soaked up better than OEM. Large bumps get absorbed without unnecessary bouncing, but you can tell you hit something.

With OEM tires there is very little body roll, because the tires will be the first things to go. With better tires such as MPSS or similar, you have enough traction to make the suspension do work. You'll have a little more body roll, but it's negligible.
