FRS Damage opinions.
Not sure where to post this, my '15 FRS was in an accident and I'm just curious as to what people think about the extent of damage. I was quoted close to 9K to fix. Also, should I request that they use OEM parts?

Looks like it's totaled. There's no way they'll get that crease out of the frame.
edit: Ahhh, there's the picture. Ok, that looks about right. If you can take it for a second opinion, do it. did the wheel take a good whack? That is key.

9k is very generous. I was quoted 5k for a new trunk and paint feathering...

Yes It did take a hit, doesn't show in the picture but its angled into the car and on a 45 to the left when the other wheel is straight

Control arm, upright, wheel bearing, tie rod, strut, possibly steering gear... There's a whole lot going on. Did they quote for insurance, or are you paying out of pocket? I'm not an expert but it "seems" like 9K is kinda lowballing it.

UGH ...... too bad about your car ........
![]() As far as I know, only OEM body parts are available. I would be surprised if $9,000 is going to fix it. humfrz |

Yeah, its a bummer, It was in great shape. Its not out of pocket, so could be worse. If they don't do OEM parts where would the dealerships get the replacement parts? Thinking about taking it to a Subaru guy, I guess a second estimate is worth it. This shop was recommended by my ins. provider, I wonder if a dealership recommend would be better.

Im prob gonna have it looked at by the dealer, I mean theyd know (hopefully) what should be involved 100%. Other than that GTA is too far and the only place moderately close is a Subaru specialist.

Was that wheel camber there before that accident? Sure looks like everything involved with that wheel needs to be replaced

No that's new lol. The knuckle, control arm, lower control arm, strut, air duct, and then cosmetics to name a few from the preliminary. I guess they haven't got it on the lift yet, so could be more. Maybe hidden costs. Thanks for the input all.

As long as there was no structural damage then all should be good after repair. I would try for a full car repaint while they are at it though.

New car dealers never do bodywork. They sell cars and wash swirls into the paint.
They sub that out to body shops. Look for one with a frame straightening table.

Say goodbye to any decent trade in. May as well keep the car thru the long ride
