also no warranty or proof of purchase

Hard to tell for certain. When my SC crapped out it started squealing louder than normal and I could see the boost (via my boost gauge) wasn't hitting the same levels it was previously.

If you have a way to see the boost levels that would help in diagnosis

More noises

Just found this thread and figured you might could help. My 13 FR-S (Automatic) with KW c-30 s/c has a vibration sound at low rpm only while in fwd or rev. Doesn't do it in park or neutral or when the belt is removed. Especially bad when cold. It has an air rattling thin metal sound, like the exhaust rattling the header, but the in gear part has me stumped. Everything else is stock with KW tune. Can't trouble shoot up close while moving. Any suggesions would be appreciated.

Check your pulleys and your mounting bolts. If it quits when you remove the belt it's something in the drive.

your supercharger belt is loose. you probably need to tighten it. it will rattle from time to time especially below 1000 rpm when you start to engage your clutch, but once you get driving I bet it goes away.

If that's the case just tighten up the belt to half a belt twist then you'll be good to go.

Solved

Thanks for input....but after riding with experienced toyota tech...said was normal exhaust kickback on TRD exhaust. Maybe should get a less restrictive exhaust.

I highly doubt it's your exhaust. Unless the exhaust was installed incorrectly and something was bent like an exhaust hanger where it cause rubbing and vibration on the body or another piece.

and what's exhaust kickback? like back firing? I don't think a less restrictive exhaust would matter, regardless of pipe diameter.

the thing that makes me think it's your belt is you say when you take the belt off it goes away. If you read through this thread there are multiple occasions on being stated there is a rattle or vibration from the belt being too loose.

Also, you took the belt off and your exhaust is still on. if it was your exhaust you still would've had the noise regardless with belt on or of. in my honest opinion, I don't think your toyota tech is correct.

I'd say put the belt back tighten to half a belt twist or keep tightening it to where you don't hear a rattle. good luck

Bought the KW kit with the C30 from InTune FRS back in May. I finally have time to do the install. I'll probably start taking apart the BRZ tonight and hopefully finish up sometime tomorrow before the New Year's Eve parties really get swinging. Wish me luck. Looking forward to how this thing performs.

Good luck! it's a great kit once you get the sc belt situated. You want to get the SC belt tight enough to where you can turn the belt to "half belt twist". Once you get the SC installed, there's a little cut out at the very bottom of the mounting plate where you can fit your thumb. then take your pointer finger with your thumb on the belt and twist it so it's sideways as opposed to flat. If you can keep twisting it then it's too loose. If you can't make it that far then it's too tight. Hopefully that helps and enjoy the boost!

Attempted my install today. Having a lot of difficulty. Missing some pieces that I guess were left out when the kit was shipped. Mostly missing hardware, a couple brackets, but I think I'm also missing a new MAP sensor. There is supposed to be a new one correct?

Anyone have the PN for the MAP sensor that KW uses for the C30-94 kit? In the meantime, can I tune and run the car without the upgraded MAP sensor?

Well I'm only going to use the KW canned tune, so I was hoping to get the sensor KW used. I don't know how to change the tune/ MAP values and don't want to risk messing something up with it.

I bought the KW kit used and it already had the tune with it. So, going to a tuner for a custom tune would be a "waste" of money at this point.

Found the answer to my question. Kraftwerks used a K-series MAP sensor for MY 02-06 Acura RSX Type-S or MY 06-11 Honda Civic Si for their C30-94 SC kit. I was able to procure a suitable substitute (PN: EC7024) from Advanced Auto Parts for $70.
