Good luck, sure it will turn out well for you.
Sure is, used to never wake up and dread going to work up until a few months ago.

I sorta equate this to being in a relationship, talk it out with the other party to see if things could be changed, and if they refuse, its time to walk.

Replaced my oil filter at 4K. Immediate improvement. Now at 6K on this change and I can feel it again.

LOL I guess I could have worded that a bit better.

Nah, it's got the five tree vortec in her. I think it'll live. A colleague of mine swamped his last summer, I towed him outta the water, I pulled the plugs, fired it up and she was good to go.

Motul X-Cess 8100 for example is rated for 15000km of normal driving. In Europe I've heard of Longlife III oil rated for 23000km of normal driving.

Not sure what exactly "normal" means in the EU, maybe 300km/h on the Autobahn. They don't sell Toyotas in Quebec?

Seriously I don't know how ThinkPads are US mil-spec when the fucking Mitsubishi plastics just keep cracking.

Driving my work truck (2015 Chevy Silverado 1500). I know that many oils are rated for 15 to even 25 or 30k, but fine print says "pending supporting UOA". And I don't know what filters are rated for. To be honest, I do the bare bones maintenance on my work truck and haven't really ever followed the service interval for it. As previously mentioned, not much is open on weekends, which is the only free time I have for 8-9 months of the year. I've had my windshield cracked for almost 4 months now and haven't been able to find the time to get it replaced. I need a diff and trans fluid change, but haven't had the time for it.

I've decided I'll be going to a local-ish (1 hour in the opposite direction of the job site, which is 45 minutes away from the hotel) dealer and getting the oil, diff and trans done on Monday, first thing in the morning. Work can wait I guess.

Was having second thoughts about leaving before, but this pretty much nailed the coffin.
I think most enterprises these days don't provide proper management training to their managers due to shareholder greed and cost cutting. This twisted lean and six sigma bs have turned everywhere into sweatshops.

The dude I last worked for didn't even understand what's the difference between Theory X and Theory Y of management. He's been stuck at the same position for almost 30 years so I'm sure Peter Principle has caught up a long time ago.

I think my grind happy gearbox and rear diff will probably go sooner than the engine. Everytime I get the diff fluid changed the mechanic would ask if I'm driving my car really hard from the disgusting mag drain plug. I would then say does slow bumper to bumper uphill traffic count? <poker face>

You can bring a DS to work and play pokemon and other games. That'll last you about a month.

So, I sort of deal with this thing that's been called "misophonia"where a particular few sounds make me just incredibly angry. Like, violent-inside-my-head kind of mad. The one that especially bothers me is eating and drinking noises. Now, I know that not everyone can help being a disgusting (lol, or you know, just making sounds) eater and I know that this feeling isn't typical. So, you know, I don't ever act on it- I just have to try to tune it out, which is usually impossible, or move out of ear shot. If it someone that I know can do better, I might tell them, but usually, I just leave it alone.

Today, however, I almost lost my shit; I wanted to scream at this man.

I understand how smacking happens, every now and again I do it on accident, but repititve smacking...no. I was waiting on my burger, and this mother fucker next to me is smacking SUPER SLOW and SUPER FUCKING LOUD. My skin started to get hot.

I look over and he has no food. His tray is empty and he's just picking at the paper. Then I realize that he is smacking ON HIS FUCKING DRINK. Then he starts slurping his fucking drink (no straw) and slurps around all the ice he got into his mouth as it slowly fell back into his drink and THEN KEPT FUCKING SMACKING. I knew maybe he wasn't....like maybe he had some sort of disability, but it looked like he was being as loud as fucking possible to get attention and bother everyone around him and it took everything I had in me not to speak to him about this and ask him to not eat like a fucking barn animal.

I just do not understand...so gross...

FYI, I was at least 6 feet away and could hear him over the game on the TV.
