Well the leader of canada declared it legalized when he was elected. And it will be fully legal this spring. So relax a little maybe?

In any case, the US border guard must have found it amusing; when we pulled up, he was singing the theme from the TV series! And smiling.. . those guys never smile! Told me he loved the show and the car, then asked where I lived, why I had been in Kingston, and told me to have a great day.. I was there MAYBE 10 seconds. Best experience ever.

Yes, I've had awful experiences at the border, both sides, over the years, but most have been just fine. This was the best.
You got lucky, although the Ivy Lea Bridge Crossing isn't too bad. So where did you go in Kingston? I live just north of K'town.

I don't believe Justin ever said it would be "legal" Not just yet.

I believe the term decriminalized was used as a stepping stone.

And let's be honest, Justin can say whatever he wants during the elections, but that doesn't make it so. This is not North Korea, he has a parlement and other parties to deal with. His first step is trying to decriminalize it, which it it's not. It might be tolerated here and there, but can still get arrested.

100% If people think legalization is coming in the spring they are mistaken.

The usual haunts... Toucan/Kirkpatrick's, great food at Woodenhead's and Diane's (hadn't been to Diane's before... very friendy folks and the food was topnotch), Chez Piggy's, Pan Chancho for our departing breakfast and coffee (a little too "groovy" for me and kinda pricey, but it WAS very good), and we always end up at KBC at the end of each night for one last pint (Dragonsbreath) and a few tasty scotches. We were there the night that the Jays clinched one of the playoff series; I don't follow baseball, but it was sure fun being surround by folks that did! Walked through Tir Nan Og (or something like that) a few times, but there was never much happening there, although it's a neat place.

We used to include the Pilot House as a required stop when in Kingston, but the last two times we were were underwhelmed so we haven't been back.

YEARS ago there was a great Greek place.. Minos or something like that, maybe?.. that we loved, but it's been gone a while.

During the day we usually just walk around a lot... along the lake coast up to the yacht club and back, around the Queens campus, or all the way up Princess Street. Great little city, and I love the architecture; stone and cobblestone, carriage houses...

We used to go every year, but hadn't made it up in the last couple. Forgot how much we enjoy the place; we'll be back soon.

Anything we missed, as food and beer people? Not much into standard touristy stuff... no ghost walkin' tours for us... lol.... but any suggestions would be great!

Thanks..

Barry

Pardon the major hijack...
