52.5k miles here, going to do my next oil change at some point this week, followed the book written with advice from the engineers who designed the car and have never shorted the 7.5k oil change interval, a handful of track days and two seasons of autocross later it doesn't burn any appreciable amount of oil and feels better than it did off the showroom floor.

I bought my car new in July 2015 and I'm at 24k miles. I hit 1000 within the first few weeks.

Working on it! Fifty days and 850 miles mostly on two trips toward the curvy part of the state (NC). Almost a crisis finding Premium (1st non-dealer fill-up) outside Knoxville where I had a nice lip scrape getting out of a parking garage (& not inspired by the broken glass I parked next to.) Swapped daily drivers from my concert-weary Focus to my underused WRX that donated a cheap set of Kazeras and Hankook A/S for however long, since I invested in TPMS I don't want to redo every six months.

I've had the car in my possession for about 24 hours and have put about 170 miles on it. I have the next few days off from work, I'm seriously contemplating just getting in and driving around California.

Question for those that finished their break in. What was it like the first time you took it to the redline?

Try not to hit redline in 1st gear. It gets there too fast.

Specially if you're raging at the slow bumpkin that got in your way.

Blown DI seals from bouncing around on the limiter, from what I've heard.

Hit 2500 miles in one and a half months. What are your guy's opinion on pushing the car hard in the mountains at this mileage?

I was thinking changing at 5000..why 3000? It's really weird because the car actually came with too much oil. It goes past the 2nd hole on the dipstick and I'm not sure if that's normal on a new car.

I changed my oil at 1000 and noticed that too. After the change my car is much quieter at 3-5k RPM. Seems to sound the same 5k+.

I didn't bother to break mine in. I'm under the impression that is no longer necessary.

'Course, I don't tend to be that hard on the engine anyway. I don't think I've gotten the high rev light to come on more than once or twice in 110,000 miles.

What I'm hard on is tires (cornering).
