New Exhaust...cant decide..

Hey guys,

So i'm trying to decide on a new exhaust.

Context: Currently running the WORKS Axelback muffler delete exhaust with the Openflash Headers.

Why: The drone is starting to get to me. Love the sound at low speeds but the drone is no bueno. Also i keep thinking there is an exhaust leak but from what my mechanic tells me, Axelbacks react differently to UEL headers.

Switch?: So i'm looking for an exhaust with a deep low growl but not as much drone.

Ones i'm considering:

Invidia Q300 - Known for it being quiter and no drone
Perrin 2.5"
Namless 3" with either muffler delete or 4" muffler -volume is fine i just want less drone
Megan Racing V2

Anyone have any good suggestions based on personal experience? Thanks!

Yes, but with the rest of the exhaust system stock.

But with a header supposedly it's still pretty tame. There's a few videos on youtube.

There's no drone at all on mine (stock header, overpipe, midpipe), but I imagine it would handle drone from a UEL pretty well, since the resonator is huge.

either I am unfamiliar to excessive drone or the sounds may be a bit harsher given you have the unmuffled version (AB). ive got catless uel with the AB-M and dont find issue cruising fwy speeds with windows up holding conversation with passanger. with windows down same speeds i hear more road/ tire/ wind noise than offensive exhaust. i could never have conversation with windows down before, so that point hasnt changed. mash the gas and can certainly hear it, but steady throttle mine is tame. reason mentioning the addition of the muffler at that price point is tough to beat.

Yeah it might be the fact no muffler. Pre Uel I had no issues but with them added on it's pretty bad. The greddy exhaust doesn't sound bad but it has some of the high end rasp I'm not a fan of

Perrin Resonated or Q300 will never drone. Especially if you have the factory front-pipe which it seems like you have.

I'mactually picking up a JDL ultra quiet front pipe. I'm hoping that fixes it but if it doesnt then i'll be seriousy considering one of these options.

Perrin 2.5 resonated, no drone. Nice low bass rumble.
Everything else is stock for me regarding exhaust. Just my 2 cents!

you want resonators and actual mufflers in your exhaust system. resonators and mufflers will help in reducing the rasp. I personally have the MXP SP catback and it sounds great with UEL's and the stock front pipe. the MXP SP catback comes with a resonator in the piping. my setup in the video has Gruppe-S UEL headers + overpipe, OEM front pipe, and MXP SP catback exhaust. here is a video of it:

I just installed an Invidia resonated front pipe and it is way louder than before. I am working on a video of that soon.
