newbie

Hi everybody first post. So I just received my OFT but I have an AEM intake. so my question is if I'm using the stg 1 f40.bin ots tune am I better off switching back to the stock air box until I get a custom tune? i.e will I make more power with the ots tune and the stock air box vs the ots tune and my aem intake? The AEM intake is electronically tuned and comes with a piggy back module that goes in between the stock MAF sensor and engine wiring harness. That has me wondering if it would be ok to use that intake with the stg1 ots tune since the little module that it comes with says that it upscales the MAF and what not? anyways I'm new to all of this so sorry if my questions are retarded lol, but you gotta start somewhere right? also sorry if this is not the correct forum to be posting this question in!

The way you describe it, it sounds like it might be okay to use the AEM intake with the OFT tune, as the piggyback would adjust the MAF back to OEM behavior. I would be sure to log carefully to ensure no issues.

That said, intakes have no perf benefit so reverting back to stock would make it less complicated.

How does one go about logging? Is a laptop involved or can I do it from the tablet itself? I'm sorry but what do you mean by "perf benefits"? Thanks for the help!

Ok so I believe I've figured out how to datalog with the OFT. I logged my trip to work this morning, mostly just cruising on the freeway. I noticed I don't have the option in the "configure channels" section for AFR, commanded AFR, or Advance Mult. ? But I noticed most logs people share have these PIDs?

Make sure your downloading Romraider definition and not Ecuflash definitions they are different.

After you download the definitions then you need to tell romraider which one to use , use menu option, Definition Manager

see Romraider tips link below, their is video as well in their

Oh ok, I downloaded the ECU Definitions because that is where I was directed from the dialogue box that popped up when I first opened RomRaider. I'm gonna check out those vids now, thanks for the help!

First two logs

Ok so here are the first two logs I have taken. Both of them are just pretty much cruising, freeway driving. I'm not sure what to look for in terms of good or bad lol. But I don't know how to log my AFR or my Advanced Mult. I don't see those options listed under realtime data...

What's your AFR at WOT?

You can do some pulls with the intake installed and with the stock intake installed and see which performs best. I think you'll see absolutely no difference. An intake does create a small amount of power. I think the AEM pulls air from the snorkel so drawing hot air won't be an issue.

I'm not sure lol? Under my realtime data i don't have the option for afr or adv mult? At least I don't see them which is why they're missing from my logs

You should not tune if you don't what AFR is or how to find out. It's dangerous to your engine.

I know what AFR is but what I'm saying is I don't see it listed under the realtime data on my OFT. I see it listed with other peoples youtube videos so Idk why I don't see it listed on mine?
