Wash after accident

How long should I wait. It's been two weeks since I got it back

I was advised washing was ok, but to wait a few months before waxing to allow the paint to cure. May want to ask the shop that did the work to confirm a similar stance.

Both times I had paint work done on my car, I was told washing is okay, but I could not use anything (wash, wax, or detailer) that would seal the paint in any way for 60 days. The paint needs to be exposed in order to cure, as I'm told.

Oh dude that title made me think of a different kind of "accident". I was sort of afraid to open the thread.

Add an other to the OK to wash but don't polish or wax yet camp.

When mine was fixed/painted the shop told me gentle washing was okay, but no waxing/detailing for 5 weeks while the paint cured. Best to check with the shop you used what they advise.

Just hoping it wasn't like this one:

Of course I'd consider a respray after that accident...

Clear is hard enough to buff in 18-24 hours. So wash it! Just be careful and do it properly.

If its a repaint then it needs time to cure, so you don't want to apply any wax or silicones to the paint for 1-3 months.

But you can use regular wash products I'm sure just fine. Just don't use a wash+wax product.
