A wing that big on a car that slow will always be stupid, but is that "aggressive" or what?

This gearing also helps keep 86 in its performance “sweet spot” while in the twisty stuff, making it easier to accelerate out of corners.

60 in sixth is about 2600 RPM. Notice where that might be on the chart? Notice it says "planned", and I have not seen any dyno runs yet, but like I said, it sure feels like it. Fourth and fifth put you in that range as well, 30 to 50-ish and you can, if you want since you don't need to, never get out of fourth of fifth depending on the road. Don't take my word for it, though. I only have 1200 miles on mine now.

In the FR-S I could tell roughly how fast I was going based on the racket the car was making. In the 86, you need to add about 20 mph, as 70 comes quickly and quietly.

The start of that vid has me searching for a Mr. Sparkle decal for somewhere on the car.

For those who have driven the 2017 86/BRZ as well as the pre-facelift one, do you think it sounds much different?
Lol well it sounds different because I bet the FRS he drove a while back was stock. the car he's reviewing is an 86 with TRD exhaust. It's gonna sound different.... With a $1100 option exhaust.

Even then I don't think it's that different.

now if he was in a stock 17 BRZ it would make a difference, there's sound deadening in the car so it seems quieter from the inside. The 17 86 doesn't have as much sound deadening, so it shouldnt sound different from a 15, this is what we all have seem to agree on the differences, and why the 86 weight less.

I guess I better grab some Decible meters and jump into cars.

Maybe we should make sure we are talking about the same things. From the INSIDE, the 17 86 sounds completely different than a 13 FR-S, and I'd bet a 16 as well. It's not insulation (or not) that is the issue, it's the engine note.

That TestDrivenTV vid captured the sound fairly well. Seems strange so many people who have one, or have driven it, say it does sound different, which is not unreasonable given the changes made, yet so many say it doesn't based solely on 'tube videos.

"More refined" hs been used to describe it, and that's exactly what it is.
