I tried 3m and red hi temp silicone but both failed..

Seen people do riveting but it didn't work out for me lol

Rivets were probably not the best idea, but is is possible to make it work.

You can buy aluminum rivets from the circle track supply places that are long enough, and you can get them prepainted black, even.


The real secret is to get the little backer washers to go on the bumper side of the rivet to keep it from pulling through the bumper material.

After a shear strength test, I used hi-temp silicone (kleen-flo gasket maker if I remember correctly) instead of the red oxide silicone, either will do.

2 LARGE tubes, ALL air gaps must be filled as much as possible and a u clamp and a block of wood each side with a heat lamp overnight.

When done correctly, there is enough shear strength that pulling on the diffuser hard enough will rip the rear bumper off the car.
