Were you given a general "August" timeframe or a specific date in August?

November is already WAY out there. If I don't get an ETA by this time next month, I might just jump ship to a WRX. Better value anyway...
It's frustrating that there aren't any really true matches for the BRZ. Yes, the Miata is similair, but to get half of the things you get in the BRZ you're hitting $29k-$30k MSRP. Not to mention the downgrade in interior. The Mustang and Genesis are too heavy and the 370Z is too high priced. It's either get the vehicle you want and deal with the wait or compromise and possibly regret it later.

This is pretty much where i stand right now, I have been looking for those "plan b's" but they just go a little under or over what the biz was meant to be. I'm fortunate to have found a brz in the same trim (with the bogus wheel lock, home link, etc) but in a 6AT. I'm tempted to just jump on that and try and talk the sales manager down their stupid markup they are trying to pull.

I also wonder how people are actually getting ETAs without vins. Are those who are getting these dates part of SDC or SoA? My assumption was you couldn't even get an ETA without a VIN

Well I was told an ETA of October without a VIN, so at least 1. I'm dealing with SoA on this one.

The longer I have to wait...the higher my down payment gets, so I'm content...as long as the car doesn't come in during the dead of winter...that would be sad.

Though my ETA with only a VON is Late Summer/Early Fall...but the guy I was dealing with said Early August.

I saw the order screen at my dealership and i was the last one on there. Myself along with 2 others had ETA that was just said "August" on them. Everyone else before us had "waiting" status iirc.

Just wanted to say for the guys out there further down on the lists, try finding out when earlier cars are being delivered in case someone backs out you can jump on it. (assuming no markup of course)

I feel your pain. I did the same thing....my dealer has been hassling Subaru for some answers because they lost 2 of their preorders due to that very reason.

Why would anybody buy a WRX now, when the next generation is coming real soon? Plus the current one only has a 5 speed manual....The Sti is too expensive...

Because it's still a rocketship with a huge aftermarket following?

No, Budd Baer in Pittsburgh. Very honest people. He did reassure me (not sure if thats the right word) that that was just a guesstimate from the history of when the other BRZ's were ordered, when they got VINs, and how long it was taking them to come to the dealership.
