Subaru BRZ production backed up bad?

I been kind of skimming through different forums and been hearing that Subaru is backed up pretty badly where there is talk about people getting their cars next year. I knew they were backed up but didnt think it was that bad. Has anyone heard about this for confirmation?

We know they stopped producing JDM spec. Eventually they have to start producing for JDM again....

I think that were a few articles talking about demand being like 4 times greater than the plant can produce at this time.

The demand is 4x expected, not necessarily 4x production capacity. Subaru scheduled the plant before production began. Next year they might be able to produce a ton more.

As for orders this year, the allotments were set at the beginning of the year, before orders were taken. There only ever were X many BRZs coming to the US this year. So if someone wants to order one from a dealership that has already sold its allotment, they will have to wait until next year's shipments.

But not all incoming BRZs are sold. It's just going to take some effort on your part to find one. Expand your search zone until you find one. Some members here have even taken flights out to buy one and drive home. Do your homework and you'll find one.

Dont be a bunch of monkeys just pre-order the damn thing!

Well I hope the SoA rep I talk to has no clue what he is talking about, because he gave me an October ETA with only a VON. I'm hoping my car will be on this next supposed boat and I'll have it by August/September.

Take that as you will. Are you still wait listed? There's a dealer I worked with who says they can't even estimate an ETA with a VON. I got the same, "Between now and November" spiel from the first dealer I have an order with.

Checking in. I flew to New Hampshire to get mine and put 2100 miles on the car bringing it down to Louisiana.

Maybe Subaru just needs a little Maalox...

I seriously feel so unmotivated to SOA now cause it seems like your going the same old "no vin" status :(

Dont say stuff like this. My ETA given to me was august, now youre making me think its august of next year :mad0259:

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the same production plant used to produce Foresters as well due to overwhelming demand?

If it is, this would slightly explain why there's such a shortage of 86/BRZ apart from huge interest in these cars.

They've given August ETAs out already? Jesus I ordered my car the day orders opened and I don't an ETA yet.

November is already WAY out there. If I don't get an ETA by this time next month, I might just jump ship to a WRX. Better value anyway...
