How much for a gloss red, like TRD red, shipped to 36081?

Painting one red shouldn't require any cost difference. I'll have to get you a shipping quote, but ballpark around $100 IIRC.

Really impressed with the final product! I was considering this for the shop FRS, but we are very fortunate to have one of the premiere cage builders less than an hour away, and I'll be having a weld-in installed next month. I will however be keeping this in mind for customers looking for a more "streetable" harness mounting option, this is also easily reversible, unlike a weld-in.

Keep up the great work though guys!

I've been working a lower mount design that will attach the 5th/6th belts underneath the seat to a bar across the back end of the slider rails. The cross bar must be low enough to clear the seat rails as the seat moves to the rear.

Fabricating a bracket tomorrow, Saturday, I'll take pictures and post.

Will the bar accommodate a seat back brace? It's hard to see how far the harness bar is from the seat. My seat would likely be close to all the way back. This seat back brace has a maximum reach of 12.5"

Doubtful, that wasn't a design consideration. What series are you running that requires a back brace, but not a full cage?

No series. This is just for HPDE for me. I am exploring all options for improving safety in my currently stock interior brz. One suggestion that came up is that if I do a half cage/roll bar that I also have a back brace if I plan on driving the car without a helmet, regardless of seat choice. I realize not everyone shares this opinion. What are your thoughts on driving a car with this product on the street?

Given how hard it is to quantify safety equipment like this without destroying multiple cars, the best we can do is make educated decisions. That's why this is designed to stay out of the way of the side impact airbags, allow full use of OEM seatbelts, etc. The primary goal for this roll bar is to provide a safe, rigid mounting location for harnesses. Roll-over protection and chassis stiffening is a secondary goal. I would not recommend a back brace on a car with airbags and no roll cage, especially without knowing your choice of seats, mounts, harnesses, airbags, etc.

For what it's worth, I would have no problem running one of these bars in my personal car, if I owned an 86 myself. We try to have a policy of never making parts we wouldn't use ourselves. Keeps things easier.

Thanks for the information. Installation of this product would come along with fixed-back seats, six-point harnesses and HANS. At that point, I don't think I should be driving the car on the street even if I am using the three-points.

Driving to and from the track becomes an issue. I would lose the side airbags in that situation and the three point belt and airbag won't work the same as with a stock seat. I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to a trailer yet. Any advice on what you and your customers do is appreciated.

Sorry I missed you, I was at TWS with the Viper. Feel free to give me a call sometime this week.

Most of our customers accept the marginally reduced safety and drive the cars on the street. The wisdom of doing so is debatable, but there are a large amount of people that do with no problems.

Oh wow this is fantastic! I looked very desperately for something like this before I bought my FR-S a few months ago, but found nothing. I bought the car hoping someone would cater to a dual-duty car.

Perhaps I missed this in the thread, but how long does install/uninstall take and how intensive is it? In any case, it will be much easier than weld-in

I am VERY interested in this. Just looking forward to a few more pictures and a better description of the real-life process of using it.

Thanks again for doing this!
