I guess you guys are right...maybe it's because I'm at work trying to look at the pics on my phone. I would like confirmation from someone who is there though.

I really have to post something. I see a few posts saying they've moved on from this car after seeing the new pics. This vehicle is still a concept. Of course they'll throw some extra "flashy" stuff on it. There's a lot of items I see that are for show and will probably not make it to production.

Not sure where the majority of members of this board are from but I'm just dying to see a production/near-production version be announced or unveiled here in the U.S. Don't care if it's a Scion, Toyota, Subaru. This "striptease" is killing me.

Why has nobody mentioned that in the press release it states the car is coming out in Europe with NO mention of America?

I'm wondering the same thing, and I hope it's not they are holding it out on us to release it as a Scion. Thought if it's a really good car from scion that's like 17K like a TC then it seems like a bargain. Still I don't want it to be a SCION let Scion sell just Boxes and bring back Toyota Sports cars. Hmm I thought I read that it's released around November? I saw this in this thread over here actually.

And the more I look at this the more I like it. The first concept is nice too honestly they could sell both versions and still make a lot of profit. I mean For every Levin there was a Trueno :O

Thanks Hachi for the updated pics!!

Not feeling the V2 at all. It looks a bit unproportional now with the stretched front and chopped rear. I see it a bit ricey now with the spoiler, front and rear diffusser, LED's etc.

OH MY GAWD THIS THING IS FRICKIN BAD ARSE I LOVE IT. THANK YOU SO MUCH HACHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks like an affordable Maserati Gran Turismo the way the contours on the hood blend with the bulging front fenders and the front bumper. couple first impressions:

1. like most people here, i do like the mark i better but i think the mark ii is pure sex as well. preferred the headlights and tail lights on the mark i but i like this version, the taillights kind of remind me of the JZA80 supra. not as clean as the mark i but definitely more bad arse. changing the taillight color to red will go a long way toward making the rear end look cleaner. i miss the blacked out a pillars and the shorter and smaller side windows and rear quarter window, the greenhouse on this one looks bigger and rounder. but the fenders, hood, and duckbill on the trunk look damn sexy. i mean, look at the thing it really hasn't changed that much, they just added a whole lot of meanness.

2. everyone seems to be complaining that the front and rear bumpers on the mark ii are too ricey. well i still think this is previewing an optional factory installed body kit. i mean, look at the thing. carbon fiber splitter, side diffusers, rear wing, fully enclosed underbody panels, crazy looking LEDs. that's not gonna come standard on a fully stock $25k car. this is just a hunch but i'll bet the standard version is gonna come with a similar looking but heavily toned down front and rear bumper without all the carbon and LED lights. that right there would eliminate most of the complaints that i see here.

3. all the carbon body bits, premium wheels and bbk still make me think this is a G's version decked out with expensive optional parts. i'm still guessing they are all gonna be factory available options that when added all together will make the car a lot more than 25k. i mean c'mon, cross drilled slotted rotors, carbon fiber, 18 inch rims, on a 25k car? i don't think so. if i can get the car with steelies and standard front and rear bumper for less than 25k i'll be happy, but we'll have to wait for more info.

4. disappointed that this one doesn't appear to be a liftback either, but what can you do?

+1 Seeing all that CF is a sure sign that it's still a concept. I'm probably the minority here but I hope none of these make it into the production model.

As long as they don't go the Mazda route and shortchange you on the LSD and transmission on the base. I hate packages that force you to buy the "bling" to get the parts. Especially hate any that package it together with sunroof.

Thought someone might note the irony, in fact the new concept reeks of many of the same ricier design excesses common to the 1st-gen Tiburon. In profile there are strong similarities. (I was quite aware the Tib looked cheesy when I bought it but then I was very young and cash-poor in '98, didn't want to spend the extra 5G for an Integra as I don't commute (only 30K miles on the Tib to date.))

Absolutely agree. I am no fan of sunroofs, the loss of 1-2" of headroom is just not worth it.
My guess: no LSD in the base model, but I doubt Toyota will go with a 5 speed manual tranny due at least partly to the more stringent fleet mileage standards they will be facing in the near future.
