Looks like simmons went back to the 245 over the 255 with the z2...which I believe has a stiffer sidewall. Which goes towards the 245/40 17 argument with the rs3.

Most of the folks I know were on 245/40 RS3 last year. I'll likely start there.

(do we really need two STX threads?)

I think all we need is the wheel rates for the various springs and swaybars, and we should be able to calculate the roll couple for our cars.
Didn't want to bump and old thread but searched and couldn't find anything...anyone know what the stock FRC% calculates too? I've done the calculation using FCM's calculator but seems arbitrarily low.

The KW v3 appears to be most popular choice regarding coilovers in STX.
Why aren't the KW clubsports applied? Does this have monetary reasons or are there technical reasons too (for example spring rates too high)?

I think because v3 offers the best value relative to performance. Driven a friend's car on v3, i think the response is a little slower than monotube gas charged shocks.

I noticed some of you guys are using a 5mm wheel spacer. Are you also using extended studs or can the stock studs handle that much spacer?

The max recommended on stock studs is 3mm (and I wouldn't even risk that for just 3mm.) I use ARP extended studs with a 10mm spacer in front and 5mm rear because I have 45mm offset wheels and stock size spring perch (C-Street, not STX car.)

I also run APR studs. My RPF1s are 45 offset so i run 15mm spacer in the front 10 in the rear.

I'm confused? +45mm offset wheels with a 10mm spacer gives you +35mm total offset. Spacers subtract from offset, not add to it.

+35mm total offset is not legal in C Street.

Agreed that I would not run a spacer on stock studs. That's asking for trouble.

You're correct. That's for my daily driver 17x9 et45 enkei rpf1s that didn't rub when I was on coilovers, but with -1.3ish negative camber and stock size dampers (koni w/ trd springs) they rub the spring perch.

I don't use a spacer when autocrossing on the stock 17x7 wheels.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying.

Yeah, for anyone running stock sized springs and a 9" wheel, you're gonna need to get pretty far under the stock offset.
