This thread....

It seems like it would pain some people if the 17' was even slightly better It's the real world guys.. where technology and engineering usually gets better as time goes on.

If the 17 was better objectively that wouldn't make your current car suddenly obsolete.. relax

With that said I'm interested to see any test that has both cars in the same place on the same day with the same driver. I honestly don't care if they are the same. I am buying another BRZ only because I liked the 13' I had so much, not because I think the 17 is so significantly different.

I believe a lot of people would like the revised model to be better. Not as a real need, but as a natural evolution. It is in some terms, but not so much regarding performance.

I'm still on the fence about the taillights.

Yep, new spoiler is a huge improvement.

I wish the TRD duckbill was a dealer option as well.

Old stock ones look better when they're done up red. JMO, but that is the best looking taillight for these cars.

Agreed on the all red part, I despise chrome on our cars.

Very true. I bought mine with the chrome garnish on the fender vent and kind of gotten used to it. I've seen it body colored and didn't quite like it, and I'm too lazy to swap to the black one. Everything else went immediately.

The first thing I would change if I got the 2017 would be the taillights tbh LOL. Would just stick with my red TOMs.

And the new wing...eeeehhhhh, it's nice but they don't look factory. The old wing looked cleaner, sleeker, and flowed well with the design imo. But I do like that the new one is wider

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6PsXNhY_vU&t=7s"]Back to Back Review 2015 BRZ vs. 2017 BRZ part One - YouTube[/ame]

I had a chance to drive a 2015 and 2017 back to back, I'm trying not to be bias in this small review that I did, so here is part one with the 2015. I didn't do anything too much or professional, all of my gear has been set up in prep for stuff later on the weekend. So it's just me and the Iphone.

I will post part Two tomorrow, but this is part one with the

2015 BRZ Limited.

Nice to see this review from an owner, and I look forward to your impressions of the 2017 as I am subbed to you. If you don't mind elaborating a bit as I am about to make a decision on a 2017 shortly. Based on the rather minimal changes, most seem to be for the better to enhance the performance, so when you say the old car is more raw, is this a case of the new car being simply more refined? What qualities in the driving experience could you pinpoint as an example? They seemed like they wanted to refine the car overall with this refresh, so I don't think its a bad thing. For instance some would say a Porsche Cayman the benchmark is more refined than the original 86.

I think you're definitely on to something, Refined is a good term. I think a good comparison would be like the old 2013. Remember when people used to say the early FRS was just a tad bit hardcore than the BRZ and the BRZ was more refined?( we know the difference was minimal and it was the same car) I feel the same way so far about the two cars. The earlier car seems more pure, it's like a freshman of college that just got in and wants to learn as much as possible and goes to parties and have lot of fun. this student may only excel in some subjects and the one they excel in was sports. The 2017 is like a graduate student, they no longer do the freshman stuff because they have all the experience and is capable but they are now more.

"Focus"on being well rounded, they're absolutely great at sports, but also now math, and history etc. Raw and Pure describe the old car, it's like it's ON all the time. While the new car, I think is more soft and easy to live with But if you do push it a little, and I mean not so much; the refinement shows and it makes it I dare says it's better than the one before.

The Delivery of Power and Torque is must more smoother than the old one, it surprises you into it's speed and glides you into the corner, instead of shooting you in and trying the limit to get you out of a corner.

Hope this helps sorry it's long winded it's hard to describe the feeling you get from the car.

James May calls it a "Fizz" I dunno what to call it, I'm just happy and Smiley when I drive both.
