What a rush that was! I mean, being able to hear your heart beat in your head was such fun times!

So glad I kicked that habit. Only drink it in dire situations, such as when I only "slept" for 4 hours and have to get to auto-x event at 7:30am.. as a nightwalker

Its just how my mind works--until something breaks or goes wrong, I'm ignorant of it. Then I do my best to figure it out. Yes, kinda back-asswards, but just how I am.

Appointment is tomorrow, I'm printing out the service bulletin and I'll let you know how it goes.

Our 182 runs a 235hp 6 cyl Continental. (235hp may not sound like a lot but remember we are 2600 lbs including passengers and fuel 1700 empty). It climbs pretty awesome with the triple prop too. It seems like it starts easier than the lycoming too. It's still a little alien to me tho after so many hours in lycomings.

TBH, I don't know why Lycomings gained that reputation but I just remember as a kid learning that, for the Piper Cub at least, Continentals were the hot ticket. I think it had 10 HP over the 70 HP Lycoming.

Nothing wrong with that. You're willing to learn.

They have a lower TBO (Time Before Overhaul) by about 500hrs. This is more to do with certification and it being an older design than true reliability though. So it's a bit of a myth that they are less reliable from what I have read. Anyway you don't have to overhaul the engine right at TBO if the engine is still healthy. It's just a recommendation.

Small-engined airplanes are death traps. The motorcycles of the air. I'll fly commercial or drive.
